I met Richard Clapton in the lift at St Margarets Hospital in Sydney the day my twins were born ,he was there to see his newborn child, had a chat seems like a nice bloke , went to viewing area and had a chat about being a Dad to him (scond time around for me )he was a bit stunned at this this (his child) being ,so tiny ,,his music is always good to listen to.

He s one of my favourite musicians... This is may favourite song of his, but to be honest, most are so good, it is splitting hairs. Though, I can relate to this a bit from my consulting days where I travelled for months on end...

It's going to be a bit sad over the next decade when all of our good musicians are gone or can no longer perform. I don't think I could handle.going to a mumble rap show or other genres, that are bad now for old times sake.

There are heaps of good musicians out now.  Whatever bands you love from the past, there'd be people doing the same genres now (and in some cases doing them better).

 

I'm the same - stuck in the 80's and 90's, love Metallica / Guns & Roses / AC/DC / Led Zeppelin etc etc... but have heard some ripper covers.
Five Finger Death Punch are a modern-ish fave, their version of "House of the Rising Sun" is fantastic.

Nick Cave, an absolute national treasure.

But ofc silly old Aussies just ignore him while the rest of the world is in awe .

Tash Sultana will be another the same sadly. This girl has so much talent feel and passion , but she's not even on the radio here. But as usual the rest of the world are just wth , she's incredible and rave about her as anyone with half a brain would on sight. like her or not wouldn't matter no denying the mind blowing talent. Grew up on Bowie, Alice Cooper, saw both a few times.

 

Same Marty , saw Gunners twice and acdc, saw them at school once too before they were famous but to this day, whata band. Chilli Peppers a fav.

l 2nd Girls on the Avenue, fantastic song and much of his others. Never actually owned one of his records though probably not what l'd buy as such but a huge talent nonetheless.
