Who knew?

In George Washington's days, there were no cameras. One's image was either sculpted or painted. Some paintings of George Washington showed him standing behind a desk with one arm behind his back while others showed both legs and both arms. Prices charged by painters were not based on how many people were to be painted, but by how many limbs were to be painted. Arms and legs are 'limbs,' therefore painting them would cost the buyer more. Hence the expression, 'Okay, but it'll cost you an arm and a leg.' (Artists know hands and arms are more difficult to paint)

Apparently NASA has a poster hanging with bees that reads:

"Aerodynamically a bee's body is not made to fly; the good thing is that the bee doesn't know".

The law of physics says that a bee cannot fly, the aerodynamic principle says that the breadth of its wings is too small to keep its huge body in flight, but a bee doesn’t know, it doesn’t know anything about physics or its logic and flies anyway.

This is what we can all do. Fly and prevail in every moment in the face of any difficulty and in any circumstance despite what they say.
Let us be bees, no matter the size of our wings, we take flight and enjoy the pollen of life.

Good onya spacy. We won't tell and I reckon you should just go and fly it.

As for penalties, I would rather go to jail than pay a fine myself. Like being on a cruise except that the stewards would be less polite but the other inmates might have more interesting stories.

I don't reckon there is much risk as long as you do it quietly.

BUT

What constitutes " flying "

If you bunnihop a fast taxi run ! Did you fly ?.

Is there a hight, below which is Not legally Flying ?.

If a reason arrives when fast taxying, ( unable to stop before fence ) failed brakes ) wind just,)))

Can you do a circuit to Stop a crash ?.

Logic says YES.

Bureaucrats say  " as written in law " safety is Not their consern !. SO NO.

Bureaucracy

It Can be fixed, By more Bureaucracy.

If l peel the lower wing skin back, it boubles that wing area, that the bureaucrats live by.

No weight gain, will it fly ,. who cares, the Bureaurocrats, will be apeased.

Single skin wings are Old school,  all the early hangliders had them.

BUT

DANGEROUSE

Well I'm very naive and think that most bureaucrats are ok guys deep down. If you do something quietly, they are free to pretend that they didnt know.

A bit like if you know of a guy cheating on his wife. She may actually know, but as long as it is not out in the open she can ignore it. You do her a great disservice by telling her.

Yep, the odd bureaucrat ( like the odd policeman ) is a fool and a bully, but you would be real unlucky to strike one.

So go ahead with those fast runs spacy.

Unfortunately true. When I have reported poor service in hospitals, govt. departments, etc. too often the official response is to add yet more procedures and checklists, rather that freeing up dedicated professionals to actually get on with their job.

Plenty of  silly OLD "B"s about. A Boeing sized BEE wouldn't fly. It's about Reynolds number (Scale effect) Same with flat thin section wings. Apart from not having enough strength It will not lift at any real angle.. It works on a small chuck glider. The best performing wings go on competition gliders .Nev

Have you ever sent a lenghty text and later decided you wanted to send the same message to someone else?

Did you know that you don't have to retype it?

View the message and hold your finger on it for a couple of seconds. A screen will appear which will let you copy the message.

Return to the home page, open a fresh text and select the new addressee. Press in the data entry box and hold for a second. A flag letting you paste will appear. Press on it and the message will be pasted.

To change a word, or correct spelling, etc., tap on the word and a cursor line will appear. Hold your finger on the entry box and slide it left or right to position the cursor line after the word to be changed. Tap the backspace key to delete the word/name, and enter the required info.
