I sure would like to know more about the bad guy. eg.... was he on bail? was he an immigrant? and more besides

I really hate it how the wants of you and me are ignored by the "pro-immigration " lot. I foolishly hoped that the voice referendum results would be taken more notice of. In the meantime, I just lament our lack of democracy on the issue. Switzerland has lots of referenda, why not us?

I agree with Nev here. The guy sure missed out on a hundred grand, which was a prize offered once by dick smith for a genuine "paranormal" activity. Personally, I was shocked by 2 things, firstly the poor quality of the non-entrants ( there were no real entrants because dick smith had engaged a magician guy to debunk the events) and, secondly, I was shocked at how the viewing public got angry at dick for spoiling an illusion they enjoyed.

Once, some friends from California were staying with us and she went off to buy a "tarp" and it took me a long time to figure out that she meant a "top" to go over her jeans etc. I did tell her that in Oz, a tarp is used in the old ute.

Not necessarily according to einstein nev. The black hole warps space-time and so light doesn't need any mass to be kept in. No I don't understand it either, but Newton has been proved wrong each time a GPS is used. Personally, I much prefer Newton stuff as I can understand it a bit. -
Here's a "fact" that impressed me.... most people think a sentence is too short, until they become well aware of all the facts of the case and then they think the sentence was too harsh. But I was intimately part of the Murdoch case, to the extent of being held up a roadblock seeking the perp. All of the facts that I know of just reinforce Murdoch's guilt. Did you know that dna from his skin was in her cable-tie bindings? There is lots more evidence than that, and it all points to his guilt. Personally, I find that the anecdotes about how somebody looking like falconio was seen weeks later to be unconvincing.

the very days of our week are named after norse gods, well tiw's day, wodens day, thors day and freyas day are. I reckon that freya, being a female, leaves those middle-eastern gods in the dust ( the all male trinity in particular is obvious nonsense)

My thinking has changed since the Ukraine war. These days, I reckon that we can no longer trust the US to protect us and so we are stupid to not have our own nukes. We could start with some dirty bombs carried by modified Jabirus with no pilots and inertial nav systems. They would be designed to not need GPS stuff and they could fly really low all the way there. When would they be used? Never is my hope, but I would not trust Trump or Putin with my life.

In the case of the Falconio murder, I was amazed that the murderer ( a guy called Murdoch ) was not "persuaded" to tell where the body was. He was as guilty as could be imagined, yet he ( so far ) has not told. Now I understand why, but I reckon it's wrong that he should be allowed to not tell.

I reckon I never really experienced pain till I got gout from an inflamed bunion. It sounds a lot like an inflamed bursa to me. The gout is from uric acid in pockets which come out of solution for some reason , and it is quite painful. A bit like shingles, which is painful because it attacks the nerve-endings. My advice is not to get old.

It is easy to muck up good grapes, but good grapes, handled properly, make good wine. Personally, I have never even tried a bad wine. They sure are out there, but it would take more skill than I have to find one. Most Australian winemakers would be banned from their local associations if they put a bad wine into bottles and tried to sell it.

My sister-in-law was a Darwin cop who attended a house where the lady of the house was catatonic with grog and there was a baby lying in 3 days of its excrement. So she called an ambulance who took the baby to hospital... Q: Was this baby one of the "stolen generation" or not?

I reckon the name matters depending on who built the thing. So "Sydney" should stay the same since it is a whitefeller thing. Uluru was different and older than this so it is ok to change it to a blackfeller name. The difference becomes harder for me when it comes to lake Eyre. Eyre was a brave explorer and I have no idea about the abo names or what they signify.But, on balance, I will live with the change. I won't agree with changing the Stuart Highway though. I thought that the abo lot lost the plot when they wanted an undersea pipeline cancelled " because it might destroy the sleep of the Rainbow Serpent"...WTF???

I'm for the idea of "tough love" to make abo kids go to school. Mind you, it would be expensive to reward the good kids with jobs one day, but I reckon this is reasonable.

My personal thing has been "war babies", ( 1939 to 1945) and "baby boomers ( 1945 to 1950 ) then Generation X etc (I lost interest )

I would like the claims for Poland being much freer from crime than Sweden (because they banned moslem immigration and Sweden didn't.) to be critically examined. -
I'm in the middle of trying to remove bing from windows/firefox/google that I normally use. Its bloody hard.
