Marty_d Posted September 25 Posted September 25 I don't know if anyone has done this in real life, but a movie had an amusing scene where someone rang a bar and asked the barmaid if he could talk to Michael Hunt. So she's yelling out "Mike? Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?" 2

pmccarthy Posted September 26 Posted September 26 Where I live we have the Tullamarine Freeway which takes us to the Tullamarine Airport. The first exit is marked Airport Drive with a big green sign, it doesn't go to the airport. The second exit is marked Tullamarine, it doesn't go to the airport. The third exit is marked Airport, and anyone still on the freeway can take it successfully. 1 2 1
nomadpete Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Here's a Random Thought for ya..... Why is China referred to as a 'developing country' (that term was used in the news tonight), when its economy is growing ever larger, But USA is not? 1
facthunter Posted September 27 Posted September 27 As of about NOW, CHINA is NOT a developing Country. Nev 1
onetrack Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Good point. On the manufacturing output chart, Chinas 2024 industrial output was $4.16 trillion, the U.S.'s 2024 industrial output was $2.49 trillion. American manufacturing output is not recovering, China's is racing ahead. But the U.S. dollar is still the worlds leading financial instrument. For how much longer, is anyones guess. https://www.visualcapitalist.com/china-vs-americas-industrial-growth-2019-2024/ 2
red750 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 The stupid quizzes on FB. They say "This quiz is so hard you won't score 5 or higher," then I score 10/10. They ask questions like " Where is the highest mountain in Africa?" and give four choices, only one of which is in Africa. 2
onetrack Posted September 27 Posted September 27 FB quizzes would be only trying to suck you in, to get eyes on their advertising, and clicks on their page, so they can then put up more crap! 1

red750 Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:03 AM I was down at the shopping mall today. Prices are outlandish. It was just after 1 pm, so I went to a snack bar to see what they had for lunch. Salad in a pita wrap - $16.90! No bloody way! I went out to the Hungry J's outside and got a chicken royale for $3.75. I'm a stingy so and so. 1
Jerry_Atrick Posted Tuesday at 06:10 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:10 AM $16.90!!! blimey.. was it salad royal or something? We're people buying them? 1
pmccarthy Posted Tuesday at 06:29 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:29 AM Pretty normal price these days. Sandwiches and coffee for two runs to more than $40 around here. We live in Central Vic where the tourists come from Melbourne. Add 15% on Sundays and public holidays.
onetrack Posted Tuesday at 08:38 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:38 AM There can't be very much chicken, in a chicken royale, for $3.75!!!
ClintonB Posted Tuesday at 09:59 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:59 AM It’s no wonder the “poor people” eat sh!t food over healthy when it is priced like that, even the supermarkets cost more to buy food for a meal than pre packed frozen processed stuff. my kids at Macca hate Thursday payday night because people movers come through an order 10 or more dinner boxes to feed the kids for their once a week meal. They have the hide to complain that they have to wait when everything is cooked to order and 40 burgers takes time. 1
facthunter Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:27 PM Haven't been NEAR any of those places in 30+ Years. IF I'm "somewhere" at Lunchtime time and in a hurry I just get a couple of Fresh fruits . Nev 1
red750 Posted Wednesday at 01:34 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:34 AM I'm sick to death of hearing about Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's divorce. Talk about overkill. 1
red750 Posted Wednesday at 12:44 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:44 PM For $789, Elon Musk’s new Tesla Pi Phone has blown the entire smartphone game wide open — and it’s NOT hype. 📡 The phone now comes with FREE Starlink internet, meaning you can connect anywhere on Earth without a SIM card or Wi-Fi. From deserts to mountaintops — if the satellites see you, you’re online. Elon Musk himself said it best: “Apple should be worried.” Why? Because the Pi Phone isn’t just another device — it’s a whole new ecosystem: ☀️ Solar charging so you never run out of power 🧠 Neural-link sync potential ⛏️ Built-in crypto mining features 🌍 Global internet access with NO monthly bills or roaming charges And that’s not all. Rumors are already swirling about: 🚗 Tesla car integration with Pi OS 🤖 AI-powered photography 🚀 Live video transmission via SpaceX This isn’t about competing with Apple’s world. It’s about building a new one — powered by the sky, not cell towers. Designed for digital nomads, explorers, and forward-thinkers who refuse to be limited. When a rocket scientist makes a phone, it doesn’t just get smarter. It becomes untouchable. 1
onetrack Posted Wednesday at 12:52 PM Posted Wednesday at 12:52 PM Unfortunately, the Musk Pi-Phone is as phoney as Trump. It doesn't exist, and Musk has no plans to produce a phone. Snopes Pi-Phone claim is False - https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/tesla-pi-phone-starlink/ 1
