Hmmm - and opportunistic thieves.

 

Parked outside our accommodation in Ballarat last week, we had 5 bikes on the rack.  The 4 best ones had a bike chain with combination lock threaded around them.  Mine, the dodgiest, did not (the chain was too short for all 5).

 

One night I couldn't be bothered taking them all off the rack and putting them behind the house.  Next morning, there were only 4 bikes on the rack - my unchained one was gone.

 

I'm just hoping that whoever nicked it, it was someone who really needed it - not just a drunk who couldn't be bothered walking home.

Here is probably one of the silliest things I have seen. I had a small tetra pack of juice, coins for size comparison.

Back in the 70's there was a lot of demolition going on in Sydney  - and I  quickly learnt not to ride too close behind tip trucks loaded with rubble. A half brick, on edge, fitted nicely between duals. Until the truck got up to speed.
