As did the storepeople - selling picks, spades, panning dishes, pots and pans, tents, boots, hats, flannette shirts, moleskin trousers, bedrolls, pistols, tobacco, and all the stuff that miners need to survive in rugged terrain. Leather pouches for holding gold nuggets were a must, and even small gold scales were in high demand.

I don't like a two party system, mostly because it works like a duoploy. It gives the impression that we have a choice without actually giving MUCH choice.

The biggest flaw in politics is the hidden financial 'sponsorship' directly favoring candidates.

Someone famously said, “I don’t care who does the electing as long as I do the nominating.”

All that happens way before the actual election where we try to vote for a 'least worst' candidate, whilst pondering 'was that the best they could find for us'?

That's done it for me.

I am ready to abandon democracy. In it's modern form it thrives on dividing society, on promoting extremism and on protecting oligarcs. Tweedism.

Bring on government by A.I.

It is my only hope for a logic based government. One that is constantly scanning and constantly responsive to the will of the masses.

Anyhow WE don't HAVE a 2 Party system. Why DO they call Taylor "Leader of the Opposition", has ME tossed, when they are actually facing extinction. Hanson is Portrayed as Future PM when she has ONLY ONE person in the Lower House, and a Gift wrapped Little "SEXY" Plane that at some stage will Probably Scare the $#!t out of her.  (Like her walk on Uluru) where she slid down a ridge in her shorts like a Dog with Worms, because she was too scared to stand up. Doing a STUNT to Defy the Aborigines call to respect the Rock as a Sacred Place. Funniest thing I've ever seen,  the Look of abject fear on Her Face.  The Rock 10, Hanson Zero..   Nev

Remember when we had a third party - the Democrats?

They used to call them the fairies at the bottom of the garden party, they obviously being those that had no truck with Don's mob.

I was a member of the Democrats, I didn't last long because I considered them not to be nationalistic enough. I continued watching out for a party that only had Australia in mind - enter One Nation - been a supporter ever since.

The leader of the Democrats, Don Chipp, did get one thing right, he said there'll be no more world wars, just smaller localized wars. He also apologized for the 60s conscription, he was the only one brave and sensitive enough to do that, being an ex Liberal but still a bit of Liberal in him. I respected him for apologizing. Can't say the same for the rest of the political hoons in the major parties. I've never voted for any of that flotsam and jetsam.

She only has Australia in Mind but follows Donald Trump? How does THAT work? Her Words are Just that. Empty words for Naive people silly enough to Believe them. Their Party seems attractive to Malcontents and drop outs Like Barnaby, who would have to be amongst the best examples of disloyal Opportunism about.. Her SHOW will Never have a true Purpose. Self Interest does not constitute a TEAM effort.  Gina And Murdoch control that Mob.  They are Just Puppets on strings and out of their Depth. Nev
