Nice looking plane. Still got 3 days on the auction and there's usually a reserve on things like this, plus a huge buyer's premium to the auction company. https://www.slatteryauctions.com.au/asset?consignmentNo=1-4-1-015614

Some days I'm with you on the children thing.

RFK is a brain-dead moron and every utterance from his mouth should be treated with the utmost suspicion.

Polls have got it wrong too often for me to trust them. Apparently Mutton is also targeting marginal seats where there is the greatest discontent with cost of living. My biggest hope is for Labor to be returned as a minority government so they have to deal with the crossbench. In my opinion that leads to better government than having a whopping majority and being able to do whatever you please - that way leads to autocracy. Of course, if I had to choose between Labor winning with a majority and LNP winning, I'd take number 1.

Celebrating Positives (offset of the Gripes Thread)

A C-17 went over our place on ANZAC day. Wasn't on Flightradar24 so I'm not sure if the transponder was off or what was happening. -
By the way, immigration is not the cause of the housing crisis. Overpriced houses and not having enough of them is the cause.

Hopefully you're wrong. Dutton has been very unimpressive this election. He has no workable policies and won't release costings. I believe that Albo will benefit from the "Trump effect" although to a lesser extent than Canada.

An easy to understand explanation of how the Orange Dickwad is stuffing America. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2025-04-29/trump-trade-and-tariffs-three-things-to-know-analysis/105226638

Interesting to see how they sell. Tesla are on the nose with a lot of people because of Musk rat and I can't see it improving any time soon.

Elon is working on it for you Spacey. Just imagine, targeted advertising straight to your visual cortex, 24 hours a day. -
Poor Ukraine. Having to put up with Trump's stupidity after being invaded by Putin is just adding insult to injury.

Making America Broke Again. Useless prick.

Well, it's not a surprise to anyone with more than 1 brain cell.

My wife & I posted off our votes today. 33 spots on the Senate paper, both of us marked 1-33. I see that the LNP have done a preference swap deal with Pauline Hanson now - so just consider where your preferences are going! It's why I always mark every spot. I don't want the political parties to decide where my preference is going - I'll choose that myself, thanks very much.

Read about a Tesla salesman in NSW who put about 1m km on a Tesla in 8 or 10 years. Battery was still doing 80% I think.

Probably enough to carry him off. Seemed like a decent sort for a pope, especially in comparison to the previous couple. -
I'll have to show our miniature Foxie, just in case he ever wondered what the vet did with his

That sounds a bit pun-itive.

Oh, I've no doubt that Mutton could get the tariffs dropped. In order to do so he would give away the farm.

Attitude matters, race doesn't - that's my philosophy anyway

ummm... where's your internal consistency? You call the major parties "socialist" and complain about people wanting "free money" from the government - women, according to you, being the worst... But then you want the "big beautiful consumer affairs department" and the "big beautiful medical intervention team", both of which would be the hugest waste of money in history.

I'd like his colonoscopy to follow Hancock's method in the movie "Hancock". With Vance (or Musk) being the person to get the close view.

This is probably the best opinion I've seen yet on why people vote for idiots like Trump. (Or Clive for that matter). https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/apr/13/trump-populists-human-nature-economic-growth Basically it boils down to the ever-growing gap between the rich and poor, referenced in posts above. If you're disenfranchised and struggling to survive, and you see people around you doing a lot better, then you may just want to destroy the whole unfair system - and this is the feeling that right-wing populists latch onto. They're not ACTUALLY going to make your life any better, in fact they will likely make it a lot worse, but they'll also make other people's lives worse too. A type of self destructive desperation. So maybe we should be taxing the rich a LOT more. How can we do that? Start by getting the money out of politics so there's no incentive for parties to do special favours for them.
