  2. One track you are light years ahead of me in computer knowledge. I bought a laptop less than 12 months ago, a Surface, and it has so much wrong that I can’t fix. Outlook refuses to start about three times a week and I have to ctrlaltdel then shut it down. Etc etc. I used to be good at computers, a couple of decades ago!

  11. Except in Broken Hill, where apprentices around about 1970 could drive around in new GT Falcons. Wheels magazine used to send a reporter there to see the latest models. Of all my mates, apprentices seemed to be the best paid. It’s history now of course.
  12. Not only that, but they have to be well known personalities who have been renamed, to avoid thread drift.

  15. Outlook invited me to try the new Outlook yesterday. It said I could reverse the change if I didn't like it. At the first step it asked for a password I didn't know, and there was no way back. I had no email all day. Fortunately, when I rebooted my computer this morning it had reverted,

  17. My wife made a really gusting meal tonight.
  18. My uncle Ken was reprimanded for reporting seeing a submarine off his post at Sydney heads. Later the story about the Jap subs came out, but he didn't get an apology!

  25. I'm sure we both mean the same thing. pH ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. pHs less than 7 are acidic while pHs greater than 7 are alkaline (basic). So seawater is basic and could never, given the chemistry of eroding rocks and existing reefs, become acidic. You say it is becoming acidic - the data may suggest it could become less alkaline, I don't know.
