My brother and his wife are coming to stay tomorrow. But they are not vaxed so we cannot go out. -
My son has a Tesla which maintains its inside temp while parked, by periodically running its electric air con. People warn him that he has left his engine running.

I had to laugh when I heard that the coal mines in Inner Mongolia have been ordered to increase production by 50%. I have been around mine planning all my adult life and can tell you that an expansion like that takes several years to implement, even if the capital funds are immediately available.

The proposals to use bio-sourced feedstocks for anything substantial are impractical, not just for monoculture problems but for the scale of land area that would be needed. The land would have to be diverted from other production or from natural vegetation.
