  1. We don't use bleach because our septic tank is not a sewer. I have holes in my shirt because my wife is not a sewer.
  2. Mozzie nets and Aerogard.
  3. Every radio announcer seems to sign off by saying "I'll see you tomorrow". No you wont.
  4. It looks handy. And the lights would work.
  5. Gee that Dennis that Menace looks like my grandson. Now it makes sense.
  6. The Australian Ecotourer cannot be beaten. Designed in Melbourne, about 1200 have been produced and are still on the road. Owners love them. http://www.ecotourer.com.au/
  7. Unfortunately when Albo speaks he comes over as a boofhead. When Scomo speaks he comes over as a bull artist. How do you choose?
  8. Harry Chaplin is perhaps my favourite singer and songwriter. His ballads still move and amuse me.

    Australia Post

I ordered a magneto and received a bundle of old Playboy magazines. Last week. A mistake by the dealer , not Auspost, but amusing.
  10. Here's one from the 50's: "We've got to get rid of the reds". Maybe a dedicated drinker entering his cellar?
  11. I don’t think they ever intended to fly it.
  12. The nurse who apparently died in floodwaters this week was ‘ trapped in her Holden Captiva'. An unusual name for a car anyway.
  13. I just changed a tyre for my wife's fourth puncture in her Corolla hybrid. We have "never" had punctures before. Is it the extra weight of batteries or a weak tyre that is designed for lower rolling resistance? Or just bad luck?
  14. Putin is channelling the Man from Uncle character. Kuryakin is consistently referred to as Russian; however, he appears to have spent at least some of his childhood in Kyiv, Ukraine and his name is spelled the Ukrainian way not the Russian way (Illya vs Iliya).
  15. Gaiea is self regulating. If she needs to reduce the human population, then it will happen. Perhaps Putin is the instrument.
  16. I'm afraid I see something in the Amazon Prime logo.
  17. Remember the National Safety Council led by John Friedrich? By 1989, it employed 430 people, who were known colloquially as "The Thunderbirds", and had an annual operating budget of A$90 million. It amassed an impressive array of equipment including ships, aircraft, helicopters, trained rescue dogs, satellite communications, parachute rescue teams and even a mini submarine. Then it went broke and Freddo shot himself.
  18. Cardinal Sin of the Philippines (who died in 2005) used to welcome visitors by saying "welcome to the house of Sin". I guess his father was the original Sin.
  19. A few years ago I had a business meeting with a chap in Perth. We didn’t discuss our travel plans. I then flew home to Melbourne, then to London where I checked in to a hotel. Next day I was in a railway station queue to buy a ticket to the north of England. The chap from Perth was directly in front of me in the queue.
  20. Power station flyash has been added to cement for at least 50 years. Typically 20%, but in some applications up to 60% FA is possible.
  21. BERLIN, March 2 (Reuters) - Germany on Wednesday took more steps to diversify its energy supplies in a bid to cut dependence on key supplier Russia, announcing a 1.5 billion euro order for non-Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) and slowing its exit from coal. "Pragmatism must trump every political commitment," Economy Minister Robert Habeck told public radio Deutschlandfunk in remarks that would have been unthinkable by a Greens minister a week ago. -Reuters
