On the subject of heart attacks, a problem is that we tend to have this dramatic idea of what a heart attack is like. Movies and even health adverts tend to show the victim clutching their chest and in severe pain.  This is not always the case.

Silent Heart Attack

But it frequently IS.  Nev

But when it is not, the consequences can be bad.  In a way, it is lucky if a heart attack is stereotypical because the extreme pain prompts most people to seek treatment.  The silent heart attack has all the negative outcomes without the strong warning signs.

"Approximately 45% of heart attacks are estimated to be silent, meaning they occur without the classic, noticeable symptoms like intense chest pain. These silent heart attacks can be identified through diagnostic tests like electrocardiograms (ECGs) and are associated with a similar risk of future death as heart attacks with noticeable symptoms"

I had a BIL who had his first heart attack at 40. He had about another 4 or 5 heart attacks, until he finally keeled over at 70. He actually died several times, and was revived each time.

He told me once how he felt unwell, and asked his wife to take him to hospital. As he walked into the lobby, he keeled over with a heart attack. He told me he remembered exactly what it was like.

He said he was going fine, just walking in, when his vision suddenly narrowed in from the edges, like someone closing shutters on him. He said his eyesight simply went to a pinpoint, straight ahead, and at that point was where he obviously keeled over. He said he remembered nothing after his eyesight closed in on him, until he woke up, recovering from the heart attack, in the hospital bed.

He had numerous operations and was on constant blood thinners, but he was obviously a walking heart attack looking for a place to happen. I was quite surprised that he actually made 70.

Blood tests will indicate whether you have had a Heart arrack if done at the right time. One time Post op I didn't even make it home because I wasn't medicated properly at discharge. Ambo'd to Hospital I was in extreme pain and Lot's of Morphine did nothing to alleviate it. .. There is a long story, which I will spare you but my heart still tests NORMAL Despite the efforts of some experts in the Game, YOU and what you do will play a big part in it..  Nev

The blood test for a heart attack is to measure Troponin.  Troponin is a protein released by damaged muscle tissue.   Unfortunately, it is a measure of the damage already done; however, it does mean that treatment can begin, and further damage can hopefully be avoided.

Unless you make changes to the lifestyle that May have contributes to it. Things like Stents and Bypass surgery will often have limited effect. Rheumatic Fever when you are young can damage Heart Arteries.  Sometimes Genetic factors play a Part.   Nev

Typical poor planning by Vic Government. One of the few untolled freeways, the Eastern Frewway is to be totally closed from 10 pm Friday till Monday morning this weekend to install a new footbridge, Did they forget it is Fathers Day weekend?

Hmm.. or it could be keeping your ear to the ground.. you know.. keep your friends close but your enemies closer

Admittedly I doubt it..

Well, I believe Dan was close enough to CCP to sign a Belt-n-Road agreemant.

BTW, did Victoria actually get out of it? Did it cost us?

Not sure why he needs to be close to that mob now he's no longer premier. Has the revolving door of politics spun him to a comfy career path?

With a few exceptions like Saint Bob Brown, it generally does

As a private person, he can do what he likes within the law. However, the photo op doesn't have any other business leaders as far as I can tell, and while Andrews may have some business, he is hardly classed as a business leader.

I have defended Andrews time in his premiership, except for the attempt to sign Vic tup to Belt and Braces or whatever it was. I could see why he wanted to do it, although it was kicking the can down the road, and IMHO, taking Australia down a dangerous path. Despite the hysteria around the debt legacy, a competent government can manage it, and could have capitalised from the economic advantages it presented.

But from all I have read so far, this is nothing short of a sell out - of principles.  Either that, or he is our Chump - willing to sell his grandmother for a few Remnimbi/Yuan. He is effectviely endorsing a repressive, oppressive, and at this point in time, aggressive regime. The deaths in Tianemen (sp?) square, the Uighurs - where the persecution, forced detainlment, and according to Genocide Watch, a continual genocide is in play (https://www.genocidewatch.com/single-post/chinese-genocide-of-uyghurs-in-xinjiang-continues) is effectively being endorsed. Not to mention that Chinese version of defenestration and their political prisoners/deaths, etc. At an alleged veiled statement effectively saying it will take Taiwan by force. Imagine the backlash if another country said something along those lines.

And co-mingling with world despots for a photo op.. Sort of says it all to me. Australia sent some low level diplomat as the amdassador to China was.. not in China.. at the time. That is a good signal..  To me, he has shown his alliegence. And while I won't call it traitorous, it is treachery in nature. His Aussie citizenship should at least be called into question, if not revoked.

Yes, no doubt business interests are involved. Most people at that level don't do this without some vested interest. But there is a difference between attending an event and getting supplimentary photo ops than participating in a school photo as one of the members of the class.

Additionally, although I guess his target market is large corporations, which tend to be devoid of morals and don't care as long as they get the money they want. But, these days, reputational damage can be a factor that may make large corporations wary of engaging someone, whom if it was foundout was providing services, may negatively impact demand from that corporation. So, there is a chance, albeit small, it may well backfire somewhat.
