old man emu Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Upon whom does failure of main players to participate in such meetings reflect?
Siso Posted October 30 Posted October 30 looks like they sent some delegates, pity they didn't pay there way. Why was it put on Australia
willedoo Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Albo might be able to have a break from stepping on rakes regarding his golf course problems as it's all going to higher levels of scrutiny. He's been referred to the parliamentry privileges committee to investigate whether he's mislead parliament and a Senate inquiry starts in a couple of weeks time. The Australian National Audit Office, the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet and Marrickville Golf Club officials will be attending the inquiry.
facthunter Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Talking to a Mate of mine, this afternoon who lived in the Area. Apparently some of it is subject to flooding and has needed attention for a Long time. Anthony doesn't Play Golf, so what does he Personally get out if it? It's not like He is getting a %.. Nev
nomadpete Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Somewhat connected to this thread, although it relates to many more than just Albo. Our corruption rating has dipped slightly lately. So much for transparency and a proper Anti Corruption watchdog (we only got a toothless watch-puppy) https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2025 1
facthunter Posted November 1 Posted November 1 We are Not in a really bad state HERE, but Corruption will happen anytime there's a situation where (SOME) People think they can get away with it, Pretty Much.. (The Temptation Factor). There are SOME People for whom MONEY and Power is everything. I think those people have a Problem because LOTS is Never enough and we are ALL going to die someday, and often the Money is not earned or gained Fair and Square, so you will have enemies. Also How Pathetic is someone who as to have the Latest, shiniest and biggest of everything to feel OK? They don't have REAL Friends. Just Hanger's on. Money is NOT CLASS. It's not called "Filthy" Rich for Nothing. Nev
Grumpy Old Nasho Posted Monday at 01:04 AM Posted Monday at 01:04 AM Clumsy, just like his immigration program.
Jerry_Atrick Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Ahhh.. Blame the current bloke for the previous guy's failings. In the current value of money, here is Australia's debt curve... Adjusted for inflation of course.. So, the total debt in today's money has reduced slightly since 2022 not long after Albo had taken over. The graph steadily increases since the previous ALP government, continues during the LNP (we'll excuse the rate of increase over the 2 year COVID period).. Albo gets in and it steadily reduces, with a slight increase but still below the levels he took over. Yep, I agree.. with pollies, it's other people's money. But it clearly isn't Albo's debt - it is the previous guys.. the ones a lot of people think are the safe pair of hands with the economy because that's what the media owners want them to think. He could do his bit to reduce the debt further - property tax gas exports, reduce corporate welfare, etc. But the press don't like that. Edited 9 hours ago by Jerry_Atrick 1 1
facthunter Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Australia is actually doing alright but you won't see that expressed often here.. Nev 1

Jerry_Atrick Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Yep and the LNP continued to grow it at the same rate from 2013 to 2019.. switch looks very different to what the curve looks like since Albo came to power.. But that was my point.. Albo's government in real terms has flat lined debt - actually reduced it; yet the press are blaming him for the high debt levels caused by previous governments both LNP and ALP Edited 5 hours ago by Jerry_Atrick
facthunter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Compare it to other countries and you will get a better Picture. How much is in Infrastructure and Defence? Population is Also growing. Money into Houses rather than Factories. Still retaining the AAA rating is significant as that affects the Interest rate Gov't have to Pay on Borrowings. Nev

Primary Industries and Mining really don't do much to make a Nation economically strong. While both those industries generate income, they only generate service jobs for the rest of the community. Look at teh nations which became great, starting with Britain, then Europe and the USA and now China and India. Greatness came from making stuff from raw materials, not simply providing the raw materials. 2
facthunter Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Murdoch Monopoly Press,TV and Radio, LIES constantly about all this to achieve his self interested Aim . I call that FRAUD.. In Queensland, his coverage is by far the Highest. being almost total. Most of the ABC staff are ex Murdoch Employees. Nev
facthunter Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Our population is too Low to support mass production Industries. We would rely massively on exporting it. We are also a long way from most Markets and transport costs are rising and are more risky. Nev
