willedoo Posted Saturday at 10:36 AM Posted Saturday at 10:36 AM I don't blame him for clamming up when the metadata proves it came from his office. One thing Albo has learnt is that when he stuffs up, it's better to just zip the mouth and hope it goes away. He's trying not to dig the hole deeper.
Marty_d Posted Saturday at 11:12 AM Posted Saturday at 11:12 AM I assume that every party compiles a shit list on anyone not in their party, and probably many in their party too. Not a good look, but judging by what everyone is saying about her, it wouldn't be a big list anyway. 3

facthunter Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM Posted yesterday at 12:42 AM I believe it was about some of her Policies and it wasn't to bully . The whole thing is a beat up. old man emu Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM Posted yesterday at 01:50 AM It must be a bit hard for a reported to get the opportunity to ask a Prime Minister a question during one of these opportunities. Why waste the chance by asking something so inane that experience would tell you that the politician is not going to answer. In the current situation of confrontations with politicians, I would have thought the reporter should have been more concerned with what acrtions ar being taken to protect politicians (of all sides) from them. First and foremost, these attacks are being made upon people being present to carry out a job that the community has given them to do. It also seem that our male law makers are prone to mysogeny based on what our female politicians are saying. 1
facthunter Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM Posted yesterday at 01:59 AM All they want is a Headline. Media is interested in getting THEIR VIEWS in the Public gaze. You mean like talking about bonking Kylie and juggling the Japanese prime minister's melons, that sort of thing.
facthunter Posted yesterday at 07:23 AM Posted yesterday at 07:23 AM That was a set up by a ridiculous station. It's a real problem not to be taken lightly. Labor have a predominance of Women. Anxious Failure sacked the dominant one in the Libs and they have gone Backwards ever since. It was her sacking that enabled Hanson to get ONE elected Person in the Lower House. The ONLY one such person there and there's a fair chance HE won't stay there long being told what to say and having to sign a non disclosure statement. Only Ashby and Hanson call the shots. No democracy there. Gina Pays the Bills. Murdoch sings "WE Love you Pauline" Nev 1

willedoo Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago It's hard to excuse him. He was following the comedian on social media so he would have well known her style and format as her Bush Barbie character. Anyone with half a brain would have known in advance they would be asked stupid questions like that. He jumped at the invitation to have her at the lodge to interview him, most likely to try to push an image to younger voters as a cool dude. It backfired on him badly. Politicians are expert at avoiding questions and 99% of them would have had the sense to avoid that. All he had to say was it would be inappropriate of him to comment on and that it would be disrespectful to Kylie, which is what most would have said. Instead he put on his most cringeworthy performance to date, acting like a sniggering schoolboy with his first stiffy. It was a national embarrassment. Totally in character for him. 1

facthunter Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago They have you trapped on those 'Set-up' shows. Albanese was trying to be visible to a wider Audience. Politicians are not professional stand up comedians. It was meant to be a Light Hearted show. You'd have to be pretty Brave to venture into such Places LIVE. Nev
willedoo Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I haven't watched the Albo/Bush Barbie episode right through. I don't see how anybody could unless you were a rusted on Albo lover, but I scrolled through it to see what all the fuss was about. It wasn't just the couple of controversial questions and answers that were cringeworthy, the whole twenty minute episode is one of the most cringeworthy things you'll ever watch if you're masochistic enough to watch it in full. It wasn't only Albo; the Bush Barbie character who describes herself as a comedian is about as funny as a broken arm. Add to that, twenty minutes of Albo desperately trying to be witty and funny, and pretending to be a knock-about ordinary Aussie bogan. No coincidence that's the demographic Labor is losing in the polls, so I can see what he was aiming at by appearing on her awful show. He delivered the whole twenty minute debacle with that same tightly clenched teeth way of speaking he uses when he's either lying or trying to pretend he's something he's not (or both). He's well known for his lack of political judgement on a personal level but volunteering to rush headlong into that mess is right up there with his stumbles. And no, he wasn't set up. The comedian had been trying to book him for an interview for a long time and got nowhere through proper channels. Then she noticed Albo was a follower on her social media so she DM'd him direct and got an immedate response agreeing and saying it sounds like a lot of fun. From there he invited her to the Lodge and the rest is history. That thing with the Japanese Prime Minister's melons was terrible. Not just the clumsy mammary inferences, the whole thing was disrespectful to the Japanese PM. He was asked 'what's the worst present you've ever been given?' and without batting an eyelid he said not the worst, but the oddest present was the melons and then it just went downhill from there. A visiting PM in good faith gave him a gift which has deep cultural significance in Japan and the fool made a mockery of it just to try to score some brownie points with voters. Whataboutism and the argument the other side is worse just doesn't cut the mustard to excuse what is essentially an embarrassing fool of a prime minister. 1
facthunter Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) BS. That is for the PARTY to decide . That's how it works. Nev Edited 3 hours ago by facthunter
old man emu Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I must say that I don't find Bush Barbie's style of comedy comes anywhere near the standard our earlier comics (non-gender term used deliberately). From the videos I've seen of her, she uses her physical appearance to attract ateention, which it sure does. However, having grown up enjoying the witty use of language and irony, both in the English and Australian styles, I think she just doesn't come up to standard. 2
facthunter Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Just trying to balance the BS here. . I'm not welded on. It's just that all the Others are dysfunctional or truly scary and they haven't stopped sooking since Dutton went. They want to do a deal with Hanson. What signal does that send to the Voters?
Marty_d Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I generally support Albo and still give him 7/10 for his leadership overall. That said, I agree that going on that interview and acting like a dill were unforced errors. By doing the melon thing he alienated a lot of women and young people in general, who don't accept sexist behaviour. I would say that it seemed out of character, or at least out of character for his public persona and history. Personally I'm happy to write it off as a silly mistake, which we all do on occasion, until or unless he does something similar. However I'd also point out the truly horrific shit that Pauline posts and defends. If Albo farted in the cathedral, Pauline blew the place up. As for the other leader of the opposition, he hasn't got an original idea and seems to think being a one nation copy will work for the LNP, which leaves Labor as the only party anywhere near the centre, which like it or not is where most voters sit.
Grumpy Old Nasho Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago The left have turned to violence. Supporting Labor goes a long way to condoning that violence.
