So, how many people *think* the recently released report on clumsy change I'd a conspiracy theory and still want fossil fuels, even if they were 1/2 the cist of renewables?

Do nothing and the cost is much higher.

Jaysus, how much Wolfie have you had??

But having deciphered your post, I think the Nats and half of the Libs think it's a conspiracy theory, but anyone with a brain doesn't.

Marty , HALF of the NATS think....? Now THAT IS News. AS for the Libs IF they aren't careful, they won't exist at all. Suss Ley is being undermined very effectively By Murdoch and her own Party. Nev

The air quality in Beijing has apparently improved out of sight since the city has started to discourage polluting IC engines, and encouraged transport to move over to EV's. It appears nearly all taxis in Beijing are electric.

In addition, large investments in rail to move people around, have done their bit to cut transport emissions. So, there has to be some benefit in any attempt at reducing polluting emissions.

The argument that our efforts to cut emissions will only be a drop in the ocean, because China is doing nothing about cutting emissions, is a fallacious one.

Our government is going to destroy our economy for no reason. It will make not one iota of difference to the temperature or climate of Australia.

The opposite.

Our economy depends on transitioning. We have the most sun and coastline of pretty much any country on earth.

The only people who gain from not doing anything are people like Gina and Clive. And they'll be dead before the worst impacts of inaction hit.

This is a typical short term gain, long term pain post.

To put it into context, here is the Herald Sun report, hardly a paper that is unbiased and fair, and one that certainly doesn't support Labor: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/doomsday-predictions-of-climate-change-risk-warns-hundreds-of-australians-could-die-from-heatrelated-ailments/news-story/5dbecbe7914b02f08dcba35a5660b16d

Even they couldn't really find anything credible to raise against the report.. Some government bashing..

Now, back to the economy.. if we had of invested incrementally over a longer period if time, you know, when it was first raised to our attention we are skirting with real danger, then the economy wouldn't need to take a big hit to its investment budget. But, no.. lack of vision is now forcing our hand. Needless to say, economically, where we can feed ourselves and keep those 1.5m people alive, of which many will be economically productive may make things better..

Imagine if we had invested a lot and were reaping the cheaper energy while already amortising the cost.. just imagine..

There is no indiustry that doesn't sustain losses before making it big. Just ask Amazon.

Then read today’s Australian with heading about gross exaggerations in the climate change report. But of course …it’s Murdoch, so you won't. Why can't you guys see a big political lie when it is so open and brazen? It wouldn’t matter except for the damage we are doing to our environment and economy and industrial capability right now because someone has convinced us to believe in witches and demons.

You are a consistent Climate Change denier anyhow AS is MURDOCH and HE is also Rabidly Anti Labor. The " AUSTRALIAN" is their Loss making BIG Political GUN as anyone in the Game Knows well. IF we don't Pull OUR Weight then eventually IF we last long enough as a living Planet, TARIFFS will be imposed on recalcitrant Countries. When is Fact and Science, Witches and Demons? ALL I see is GREED from some wealthy sectors deliberately  putting out FALSE arguments to keep making zillions as did the Tobacco Industry and not caring a Fig about the effect/outcome.  What could be a  Better source of energy than the  SUN?  It comes here anyway  and will do so for a LONG time yet, Nev

The greed began with Al Gore, at least that is where I first saw it, when he planned to make a fortune trading carbon credits and made a movie to scare us into buying them. The whole climate industry is about dollars, making money for big, vested interests, and about Russian and Iranian and Chinese propaganda and dark ops to destroy the west.

I have solar panels on my roof - that is not what this debate is about. Chinese coal consumption increases every year and will continue to do so. They are laughing at us.

You are getting wilder by the Post. China is Fair dinkum about renewables while Trump is NOT. Solar decentralises POWER Supply.. Sunlight is free. The BIG money is in Coal Oil and GAS. ALL finite resources with inevitable cost increases and BIG MONEY owners CONTROLLING the Debate and the Market and Very frightened about wind and solar. Nev
