I am a pensioner, and this lockdown has only affected my coffee times at some of the best coffee houses in australia(brisbane) i am still building,still looking after my grandkids,still going shopping,still going to buy stuff for my build,lockdown,what lockdown(admittingly not talking to many people life still goers on,and at 72 i am enjoying life

I retired at 62 ,allbiet i still do the odd 2 or 3 weeks project work for clients about 3 times a year (this year i wont) am self funded but i have a pension card i take my funds 3 times a year in lump , cash it out and live of that(my wife still works for education dept 3 days a week) although i dont get the pension can still access all that the pensioners get so i will get the $750 ,my super is not that grand ,compared to my son who in 14 years of work has $500,000 in super, i draw about 30k a year sometimes more i can live of it,fly and am building again,Nomadpete ,your super must be HUGE LOL,even so i think you should get the benifits of a pension card ,you have paid your dues Cheers gareth

Octave, as an adult teaching children do you require a blue card for this , in Qld we do when i was President of a soccer club all commitee members required this , i also do breakfast with the chaplain in a school , blue card required and also drive a bus for an aged care facility(volunteer) and require a blue card this does not completely keep kids and elderly safe but an extensive police check some pedos will still get through

Lol no dogs but my wife and i are away frequently and i can use my smart phone to see what is happening at my home from any where in the world s ome hiuses in the estate were burgled a few years ago. Installed our system 7 yrs ago on 54c we have integrated full aircon at home dec jan feb are the only months we dont get a cheque but dont pay a cent last quarter payment was 900 dollars before that 1100(we have a large system that we installed ourself bought all panels and recently upgraded our inverter to a 6.4)sparky did all wiring and paperwork.it paid for itself in 3 years

They have to get in to the property first ,electric gates and high fences security on all doors and windows also not in a high crime area and if you can find the safe and then open it your welcome to it (our house is alarmed and can turn of zones)ie bedroom and bathroom we also have cameras in certain area's ie front and back sides of house so worry level is zero

I dont keep cash in the bank, interest is so low we are losing with the way costs go up and interest does not keep up, i take out cash 4 times a year and keep in safe ,only keep small amounts to pay usual bills in bank account, i get better deal on stuff with cash, when my wife retires we will take her super out and use it, as self funded retirees with no debt we are penalised if we have to much super,i was asked by the thae bank once why i take lump sums out , i told them its none of your business its MY money and can do what i like with it

Correct my blue card is free through the school when they sign off qld education pay for it but seems to be if volunteering for the aged you pay

I have a Qld Blue card (working with children) i volunteer in school, i was asked to volunteer to drive a aged care bus from a home ,ok i said , then was told would need to sit in a star chamber to see if i was suitable and get a blue card for aged care (WTF) i have a card for kids i say but no wanted all this bullshit as well as a safety course cert i said i am giving my time for free i have had a police check for my blue card you pay for it ,no cant do so i said ,stick it its not worth the trouble and MY expense to give you 8 hrs labour for this sxxt

I have walked around the base of Uluru it is quite magical, not being a follower of religion i did find it awe inspiring ,and as for climbing the rock i am with our indigenous countrymen be respectful, that mob looks to be a in a frenzy and tourists of this ilk usually have no respect and will trash the rock

I recently returned from o/s and when we landed was disgusted with the way passengers(most)trashed the aircraft,used cups,tissues,bottles,and all sorts of rubbish even soiled nappies were left on the floor and seats,disgusting and you think people wont trash this great country of ours oh and by the way 50% of the people were not white australians welcome to australia
