Illegal Immigrants ? ? ? ? ?

?..we would get rid of States only over the dead bodies of the people who want to retain those independent powers.

I fully agree with this, Turbs. Big corporations laugh all the way to the bank over this issue. I suspect the business model of some enterprises is dependent on the tax holidays, establishment grants and disguised subsidies they negotiate by playing off one state against another.

Tourism would employ much more and is sustainable.

Tourism is a useless industry which produces nothing in tight times being a non essential service it will die in the ass first. It is disappointing to see so many red-raggers on this forum.

This is a forum that has been provided by a very generous individual, aided by others who assist in a voluntary manner so that a large group of us can discuss, in an open way, many issues that interest us. I appreciate Ian's efforts and if others are saddened by the diversity of opinions found herein then tough. I take this opportunity to wish all fellow forumites a great 2014. Regards Don

People should agree to disagree sometimes, and just respect the fact that others may hold wildly different ideals, and that their personal reasons to hold those ideals can be just as valid for them as for anyone else.

I think most people come here to talk and read about flying, and in that regard, I don't care what their political affiliations are. It isn't www.conservativerecreationalflying.com any more than it is the www.socialistrecreationalflying.com forum.

Very disappointed with your reference to myself as a red ragger for bringing up the tourism industry. Facts will support the validity of my statement. I didn't start the thread either. Are people of certain views not permitted/welcome here ? Nev

Your comment about tourism was not connected to the red ragger comment but rather your and many others attitudes in general which I find hard to believe. But as has already been said this should not be on this forum so I am going to abstain from comment in future.

Richard.

The moderators will decide what appears on the forum and in general they do an outstanding job. The attitude that we should not voice independent views on politics sounds like small town prejudice to me. Freedom of speech is the most valuable commodity and we should freely exercise it. Regards, Don

I haven't seen anyone say that the mods don't do a great job; nor that this thread shouldn't be here. Not even that people shouldn't express their views. But after awhile, surely it gets a bit pointless to try to convert those who are just as ardent supporters for something that is opposite to what you believe in.

Quite the opposite to my mind...with the prospected outlook for humanity's future in the next 200 years I would say it is IMPERITIVE rather than POINTLESS.

There are a lot of people within society who say "Who cares...I won't be here."... Sadly much of this mud attitude hs drifted to the top in society.

But do you spend your days attempting to convert those who are determined to not be converted? Or spend your time where you might make a difference. When it comes to politics, a steadfast belief in one side or the either is hardly likely to improve the prospect for hummanity.

G'day Bandit, you can read the comment saying that this thread should not be in this forum. I am not trying to convert anyone. I strongly object to those who wish to stifle free speech. I saw it when John Howard was PM and again now. I did not start this thread and only commented to try to show the circular nature..the futility of debates about "illegal migration", whatever that might be. I really will now exit this thread and I appreciate your very sincere comments. Regards, Don

I must have missed the comment about not being in this forum Don, although a couple suggested that offtopic would be better than humour.

Please dont think that I suggested that people shouldn't express their opinions. But I was starting to see some people for whom I have a lot of respect for (at least from theur posts as they are strangers in real life) who seemed to be heading towards open brawling. Hence the agree to disagree bit. Cheers, Shane

You're wasting your time with the extremists Bandit; they love to vilify something including their own country and it's leaders.

If you do a plagiarism check, you'll find some of the original versions of their vitriol relate to George Bush who is supposed to have staged 9/11 for the benefit of the war machine etc etc.

It doesn't matter if you give them facts, the vitriol just moves on.

Don't care, still like reading his stuff. I think we'ed get along fairly well actually.

I know he's deliberately not PC, but many of his statements are piss taking.

I just have to share this. I'm listening to an interview with a very interesting (and brave) author about his research into the origins of Islam.

http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/booksandartsdaily/4560962

Islam has much wisdom to offer, but Moslems should accept that it is not a perfect religion, should not be forced on anyone, nor should anyone die or kill in its name. Perhaps asking too much.
