Jerry_Atrick Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) FFS! Despite spending an amount that would materially add to my pension on the heating in this place, it has bloody well gone again, just when we need it most (so far this winter). In the 7 years we have been here, we have had two winters without any heating; and 4 with a decent interruption to it. This time, there is something wrong with the boiler and it is blowing fumes back into the house. The CO2 detectors aren't ringing, but there is that smell of burnt jet fuel (they are oil burners). A plumber came out and issued a safety notice, so it is illegal to ignite the boiler until it is repaired and signed off.. and he can't come out until the end of next week! Marble Bar, WA, here I come! Edited 20 hours ago by Jerry_Atrick 1

Over the next few days most of the southern part of teh continent will suffer temperatures into the mid-40s. And not a single sign of rain to follow. 1
red750 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Melbourne is forecast for 40° tomorrow (Saturday) and 42° Tuesday. Ouyen is forecast for 48°. 1
facthunter Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Ouyen is always the hottest in the state. They must have a candle under the instrument. Cities create some of their OWN Heat. They COULD be designed better in that respect. Nev

Marble Bar, WA, here I come! Is tazzie starting to look more appealing? Whilst the mainland expects 40 degrees, we might reach a more civilised heatwave of 30. We rarely need to turn on the heatpump. What's this boiler thing of which you lament? Sounds like it's as big a moneydrain as an extra child? Edit: Sorry. That's not much of a gripe. But it's the best I can manage in utopia Edited 11 hours ago by nomadpete 2
facthunter Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago (edited) I'd be a bit concerned about any Place with MANIA as Part of it's NAME. . IF the tide goes out 200' We can walk to there... The shallowness of Bass Strait causes freak waves now and again as the swells come from 2 directions. That can Make the Ferry ride Interesting. Edited 11 hours ago by facthunter 1
