They had a fox-shooting weekend in Feb 2019 in Boyup Brook, W.A., and the final tally was a total of 705 foxes, 170 rabbits, 18 cats, and 2 pigs. I think there were about 30 or 40 shooters.

The local farmers organised it, as they were sick of losing hundreds of lambs every month to foxes.

One unfortunate consequence of tightening the gun laws and the bad publicity of the fur trade. Fox skins were worth good money ($35?) in the 80's. Good money. Kept them in check. Plenty of people wanted to shoot them

Everytime a cull of noxious animals is called for, there is an equally strong call to prohibit the cull from "animal rights" advocates. Those advocates always seem to reside in inner city areas where the damage caused by introduced species cannot be experienced. Which has a greater right to exist - and introduced species or a unique nartive one?

Improve a couple of boat ramps and that money is gone.

My boat registration already goes int boat ramps. Which irks me - as I never use boat ramps.

My blood ran cold when we were walking near a river up the cape. My mate said...

"Wasn't there a log on the riverbank over there? Well it isn't there now!"
