Siso Posted Tuesday at 09:09 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:09 PM Definately agree that we need politician that have done other stuff except politics
gareth lacey Posted Tuesday at 09:50 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:50 PM Albo has never held a real Job, always was a labor lackey, so what he lived in social housing and his Mum was a single parent, this did not set him up to be the prime minister of this great country, many of us emigrant(i came here 56 years ago), when you could walk to a new job the next day if you didnt like it always was more jobs than workers, then came the labor /socialist party to power ,downhill we all went , rents went up, morgage went up, fuel went up, labor spend like there is no tomorrow, taxes go up,yada yada yada, why do we as a nation keep voting these no talent pollies (on both sides) to power, we are not all fools, is it because the 2 party system splits us into different sides, the greens are a waste of taxpayers money to pay them, indepentants never achieve much at all ,One Nation seems to attract some strange people (but i do like the sentiments they espouse). we need strong politicians that see that our back is now up against the wall and take strong measures to counter this, relying on asia for our fuel is stupid, asians think we are all racist in Aus, they can bring us to our knees anytime they want, we as a country cannot survive without fuel and forget going full solar it is not ideal for the vastness of our great country, immigration should be stopped completely we are full up . As a country we need to go fully independant for our safety and advancement, yes i think we should go slightly isolationist for a while bring us back to a even keel, I am in the last years of my life , so wont see changes but i hope my kids and grandkids do 2 1
Kyle Communications Posted Tuesday at 10:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:19 PM Jerry I appreciate that and yes that is called having a opinion on both of our points of view and being able to accept that rite now days seems to be something that the left doesnt believe we should have
nomadpete Posted Tuesday at 10:23 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:23 PM Firstly, TDS is certainly a thing to worry about. Observing the derangement of trump should be a warning to us all. Yeah I do know the intended meaning of TDS.... but the yanks were seldom good at irony. It would be clearer if they put the apostrophy after the middle word, but the yanks don't do proper grammar either. The positive side of watching 'Good Ole USA' going down it's own self made gurgler, is that we have the option of learning from it. The lesson goes way beyond "Don't put a raving nutcase in charge of the place!". Our leaders SHOULD be taking notes on how badly certain policies can turn out. Are they watching the cause and effect of eash fiasco in the american clown show? It should make it easier for our political observers to work out smarter ways to run our own country. Sadly (In my opinion) we are following too closely behind USA instead of steering clear of the biggest sinhle cause of government erosion. The rise of the oligarcs - the ones with obscene wealth. The ones who can and do buy and sell just about every politicion and policy with their small change. The ones who fund 'Super Pacs' etc. The politicians (not just their party leaders) do not sing to the tune of the majority of the populace. There is no point in saying 'Oh but there are some pollies with ethics', unless the majority have ethics, the political system is owned by the big players. So, my challenge to you is this..... what would you propose to change this ? Cos I have no effin idea. 2
Kyle Communications Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago (edited) If you have the time watch the latest Press Club interview done with Matt Canavan it will be up on Youtube soon I think.......It was a cracker ! This guy would make a great Prime Minister. He is sensible and forward thinking and has some great ideas to launch this country forward. This should be made the Adrress to the Nation not like Mr Magoo's one Edited 23 hours ago by Kyle Communications 2
facthunter Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago He's a Dill acting for the Coal Industry. and He's only a Senator. (Not directly elected) and dresses Up as a Tradie. It's the NATS that have killed the Libs. Nev 1 2

Our Govs that do get in have been destroying our country, selling their soul and us their people and our kids out for bloody yrs- both of them in one way or other. And what Albos done and is doing to our country now, man. This guy is so on point in so many huge ways whatever he is, God l wish he was in a party where he could become PM myself, and l'm a tree hugger. Trouble is, what Albo's doing , and what the others have also done, is so damn serious if l have to choose between climate and what's left of my country , right now l'd choose to save my country first. facthunter Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) Easy to Promise anything, when you'll never have to actually Run the Show for ALL of us. Coal is the solution for MATT. Do your Homework more thoroughly, and don 't believe a word 2GB or SKY Utters. There's NO EVs in Canavan's Plan. Just Lot's of CO2. Nev Edited 22 hours ago by facthunter typo 1 1
facthunter Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Don't just go on ONE speech He Made, work out where He's coming from and Whose interests He serves. He's the Party's current leader but you really cannot LEAD from the Senate. Nev 2
randomx Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Ahhh, just sayin. But what l think about anything will change nothing to what's happening to our country as we speak anyway. And this guy, makes no difference what l think he'll never be in a position to change or fix any of it either. Neither will me doing any homework. l have real problems to solve in life right now. Edited 20 hours ago by randomx
randomx Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Tell you what though, there was one helluva lot in what he did talk about , spears to the heart of what is happening in this country right now and has been decades. All talk well, supposing he did get the chance, even if he could mange a few key points of he's ideals there, could be enough to turn us around before it's too late, but as l say, he'll never be in that position anyway.
Kyle Communications Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago You forget Canavan has been involved directly in the govt ranks for a long time. Tony Abbott hired him when he was young when he was PM..Canavan knows his way around the political backrooms and is NO DILL.......people tend to forget this. He has a lot of experience the difference is he is a lot smarter than the rest of them. He just currently is not in a position to be the PM...but he is still young and who knows what can happen in the future...here is hoping that somehow he gets a path to the very top. I would much rather have him at the top than any of the current idiots in control 1 1 1

Kyle Communications Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Actually Canavan does not like Trump or the Iran war at all.
Marty_d Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Canavan is a nut job. Anyway isn't this a bit off topic? There's another thread about Australian politics. 1
Marty_d Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago And for all the Trump and Netanyahu fanbois... Tell me again what "the master of the deal" has done for America? https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-04-08/donald-trump-cedes-ground-to-iran-before-negotiations-even-begin/106541368 After being fooled into this war by a war criminal, Trump has: - caused devastation to life and infrastructure in Iran - spent billions of US taxpayers money on a war they didn't want or need - depleted the US armory - caused mayhem around the middle east - raised prices around the world due to fuel and transportation costs, along with associated shrinking of tourism etc - trashed America's reputation even more - put money back in Putin's coffers enabling him to continue the Ukraine invasion. And in return for all this pain, felt worldwide, what has he accomplished? Nothing. If anything, the Iranian regime will come out of this with more than they started with. Not only will sanctions be removed, they will be making money, Mafia-style, from any ship using the Strait of Hormuz. No regime change. No democracy. No stopping of their nuclear program. And you think this pathetic creature is doing right for the US? Don't make me laugh. 1 1
Siso Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Would Canavan really be any worse than any of the others. Looks like he would get some industry going, eg making fertiliser. Phosphate Hill may be going down the tube. We are trying to go green but buying are fertiliser from country that is putting industry first. Jobs for our kids. It would be good if we did the same, we have all the ingredients and don't have to transport it on dirty bunker oil burning ships, so it is greener than what we are doing now. 1 1
facthunter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago "Tradie" CANAVAN is for Coal. Never forget it The rest is Just an act where he Plays to Naive People. Albanese is and has been for quite a while attempting to Be More self sufficient and Value add Overseas Refining is Cheaper and of a high standard. IF we do it Ourselves it will inevitably cost More so THAT may be the future OR electric. It would be Hard to Predict the Vagaries and excesses of Trump and the Incredible damage that has resulted to TRUST and ORDER. and be able to Avoid being affected. Storage has risks and costs. AUSTRALIA hasn't caused what is Happening in the ME, and is NOT Pro war,. nev 1
Siso Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago All the countrys we are trading against use coal. Personally I haven't got a problem with it as long as we head to not using it in an orderly fashion. (like China and India- India has jut started a fast reactor in the last couple of days)One of the things that is sending our remaining industry overseas is the price and perceived unreliability of our weather dependent intermittent electricity generation. 1
Siso Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 95% yes, Australia's contribution to it is that small it is not worth sending the country broke going hell for leather at reducing our part. Lets do it sustainably. Our rules for industry enviromental compliance is also a lot more stringent then other country's we trade with as well. The best thing Australia can do for climate change is export uranium! 1 1
facthunter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Biggest Coal exporting Port is Newcastle and we are one of the Biggest LNG exporters also We were locked into these contracts. You Downplay the risks of Nuclear waste and storage Nuclear Reactors are Prime Military targets and need lots of Cooling water and the Power generated is Highly expensive, and concentrated so much so that Dutton Proposed the Cost and risks be shouldered by the taxpayer as private Enterprise would not engage in such a risky and poorly thought out Proposal. Dutton lost the election AND His own seat. Nev 1
Kyle Communications Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Albo doesnt foster self suffiency at all..All he does is pour public money in to big industry to keep it afloat this is his solution to self reliance..and why are these big operators going down?...POWER and ENERGY prices are killing them all. We want LESS govt involvement...We are just becomming a socialist communist country just like Russia. The govt want to have a finger and control everything. The only way to get GDP and prosperity is to get private investment into more larger operations just like we used to have. The private sector is dying due to these major costs you see it every day. Canavan was right about the aluminium smelter now about to be subsidized to stay afloat..and why cant they stay afloat???..energy costs. This is the crux of the matter everywhere here. In a countyr with so many resources we are strangling investment and employment and development because its too expensive to operate. Why did our only urea plant shut that was here in Brisbane....POWER costs Why was Wyalla steel failing?..POWER costs Private companies drive growth and GDP not governments. This government does not foster that at all like Trump does. last time I did maths 1 + 1 = 2 Trump wants investment by private companies he will not subsidise companies to keep them afloat private companies need to stand on their own 2 feet. They cant do that if they are not profitable. Trump makes the conditions to allow this by making the USA energy self sufficient. Energy costs for any business is a huge part of your operating costs. No matter what Bowen and his renewables scam say the sun goes down at night and the wind doesnt always blow. You cant build enough batteries...let alone the cost for them to power a country at night. I have just come back from NZ and their power prices are half the cost of ours. The reason why is 53.5% of their power comes from hydrol power stations and 20% from hydro. They have literally NO wind turbines to be seen anywhere but apparently there is 8.9% attributed to wind and its always windy in NZ. Solar is 1.4%, Natural gas is 9.3% coal oil and diesel generation is 5.2%. They use the most cost effective resources to generate their whole power system accross the country The biggest issue was hydro was much more previously but its been very dry in NZ in the last 10 years. We dont have the luxury of Geothermal or Hydro here in OZ. The kiwis are NOT putting in huge amounts of wind especially considering they have lots of wind and solar is basically negligable. This govt are pouring OUR money into soalr and wind that is intermittant we need a far better balance and coal and gas is the answer for BASE LOAD the intermittants are fine but will NEVER be able to be even close to 60% of our power needs. Trump also aspires to the same facts this is why they are pushing their fossil fuels but also nuclear. Nuclear here is apparently the most disgusting unthinkable notion according to Labor. Germany shut down their nuclear..well whats happening now is they are powering them all up. Now most other countries are pushing that way to get rid of coal and gas. This is how we should be travelling as well. Its clean it is safe despite what all the greenies say. I want clean power and I am sure everyone with a brain does but the current track we are on is decidely wrong Albo and his far left mates are just a softer Putin both are raging commos they want to be in total control of how we think, live ,eat and shit.
