Trump has had his wings clipped by the Supreme Court who ruled that his IEEPA tariffs are illegal. He’s not a happy camper.

Ha! Ha! His appointed cronies on the Supreme Court have just declared his method for imposing tariffs was illegal, so they come off. Any tariffs in existence prior to those his method imposed will probably stay, but they were mainly down aroung 10%. Billions of dollars were paid to the US Government through his tariffs, but it appears that it would be impossible to refund money to those individuals who paid it. No doubt Big Busiess will have the records to recoup what it paid, but Joe Citizen remains screwed.

One has to wonder if the insult of the exorbitant tariffs will be forgiven by those countries whose trade suffered from them.

Unlikely.

The deranged orange one has crapped on its trade 'partners'. The stink will linger long after the crap is gone.

Art of the deal? There might be big money changing hands in the background, but joe public won't see any of it.

There are calls for the money taken as tariffs to be returned to the busineses that paid them, but how can those small businesses return the small portions that individuals paid? Imagine Walmart trying to identify each customer who bought a packet of AA batteries that came from China and carried a tarriff amount, which Walmart had passed on in its retail pricing.

Don't forget the sales taxes that are applied to the shelf price at the check-out. We might complain about a 10% GST, but it is a much simpler way to tax sales than the multi-layer system in the USA. If teh retail price of thos batteries rose due to the passing on of tarrif costs, how does the extra sales tax get calculated and returned? What a mess!!!!

Yep, the U.S. Supreme Court has essentially stated that Trumps claims that there's a major economic "emergency" that must be corrected by the application of his random and erratic and constantly-changing tariffs, is totally unbelievable BS. Just like most of what comes out of his mouth.

Can you tell me where you found that, Marty?  Nev

Heard it on Radio National yesterday - Fran Kelly was talking about it.  She had a political science academic saying it was unlikely we would sign up, as the government is putting lots of time into the UN - and this brainfart of Trump's is supposed to be a replacement for the UN - but we had not made any statements about it either way.
