facthunter Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Plenty of NAIVE dills around. She has No Policies bar Hating a "current" group and Pulling RACIST STUNTS and stirring People up,. Look at the SORT of People she has recruited to BE in "HER" Party. How will THEY all work together.? Nev
willedoo Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Nev, with all due respect, you didn't answer his question. 1
willedoo Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It might add to the quality of the debate. Try leaving the caplock alone as well, it's the online version of shouting at someone and is classed as rudeness in the internet world. If you must emphasise a word, italics, while not ideal is a lot more palatable than a shouty post full of caps.
willedoo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Just to clarify, it's not a pleasant experience reading posts riddled with capitalised words. In print form, it looks agressive and overbearing. There's a lot of forums that would ban you for continually doing it.
facthunter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I'm Doing it for Emphasis NOT to be rude. AND I did answer GON's Question. What are you picking on this for? Isn't what I say More Important? Nev
Marty_d Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) There's a rise of far-right populist parties everywhere. Reform in UK. AfD in Germany. Fidesz in Hungary. National Rally in France. The MAGAfication of the GOP in the US. PHONey here in Australia. If you want reasons, how long have you got? Growing inequality. Billionaires profiteering while simultaneously disenfranchising workers. Overpopulation, destruction of the natural world while those same billionaires resist any limitations on resource extraction. Journalism hollowed out by concentration of media ownership to the same billionaires and their mates who own the fossil fuel and tech industries. Loss of traditional industies to automation, robotics and AI, and the necessary transition of energy systems. Difficult and existential questions which require actual thought, wisdom and cooperative planning, at a time when our attention span is the shortest it's ever been. Into this complicated reality, populist parties provide simplistic answers and attract followers who like simple answers. Climate change isn't real so let's drill, baby, drill. Everything will be ok if we send all the immigrants back to where they came from. It's all the fault of the Somalis/Muslims/Jews/Pakistanis/pick your group. Cut taxes while simultaneously increasing services. Sound familiar? If you really think that Pauline is a deep thinking, compassionate and forward-looking leader, then by all means vote for her. Personally I think she's an opportunistic, racist rabble-rouser who appeals to the worst bits of human nature, so her party will always be last on my ballot. Edited 1 hour ago by Marty_d 1
facthunter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Well said. She's just another CON Artist. HER show exists on the Amount paid for Every primary vote. SHE has NO candidates in the Lower house. only the Senate which Keating called "Unrepresentative SWILL" with some justifications as they get there dependent on what order they are Places on the List by the Party . willedoo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Thanks Marty, that's a well reasoned, thoughtful and balanced reply. I don't want to put anyone's nose out of joint, but your post is the standard of debate this forum needs as a lot of the political posts have been bordering on childish at times. It would be nice to see forum members stick to the play the ball, not the man rule.
willedoo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Nev, you're still shouting. Either that or your caplock is sticky. Caps are a poor way of emphasis and irritating to most readers. That's the last I have to say on that matter.
facthunter Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago That's the way it's going to BE, because I can't do it the way you INSIST on. Are you a New Moderator? So many rules. Plenty SHOUT much more that I do. It's ONLY to Emphasise. Why can't YOU just accept that? This is B Unpleasant. Yes My Caps lock does stick. Keyboard is a POS but I can't afford a New One and I probably Need operations on Both Hands. I've already had one on each. Nev

Nev] Nev, as an example of the point I'm trying to make, the above quote has been edited to normal text. Yes, I know you do it for emphasis, but your posts don't need emphasis. They are short enough to be clearly understood without caps. The fact is they are less understandable with the cap emphasis you put in the posts, and can visually look like a rant. Have a good look at the two versions above and try to imagine them through the eyes of others; it's not hard to see which one looks more polite. You don't need a sledgehammer to crack a nut. 1
red750 Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago There's no NEED to EMPHASISE. Do you SHOUT in EVERY conversation you have? There was nothing to emphasise in your last post. You hit the shift key at least a dozen times in that post. Capitals should only be used at the start of a sentence or for someone's name. You can pick up a keyboard for under $15 at Officeworks or Target. And stop taking shots at moderators or you will end up suspended. (Willie posted the previous comment while I was typing.)
