Trouble is the weeds grow first and fastest and die last.

"One year seeding. Seven years weeding." The idea is to knock the seed bearing parts off before the seeds mature and add another seven years to the need to weed. Where the mower won't get 'em, the chipping hoe will.

I count myself lucky that despite the usual high and dry summer temperatures, there have been enough bouts of heavy rainfall to allow the Buffalo grass I am trying to establish to do what I'm hoping for. Just had a look at the weather radar and there's a band of light rain coming my way.

*cough* *cough* .. Hold trhead resurrection, Batman...

Anyway, I read today that SFM was honoured in the Kings Honours today for his leadership during the COVID crisis.

I didn't realise that the honours system in Australia rewarded ineptness.. Maybe ints an upside down/downunder thing?

Let's see... I can't recall him doing any leadership at all.. In fact, he tried to throw a spanner in every works aimed at managing the pandemic. Firstly, it was the states that bore most of the responsibility. Secondly, he was trying to open things up when closing them down was largely working. Thirdly, to ge the vaccines, it apparently wasn't a race even though he wanted to open everything up. And finally, when there was not much happening with respect to getting Australia prioritised, it was ex-ex-PM, Kevin Rudd that made the calls, not SF-Boody-M: https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/rudd-claim-reveals-the-call-morrison-never-made-20210713-p58969.html

This article, although not critical enough is SMF's lack of management of the COVID crisis, sums up the debacle: https://www.theage.com.au/topic/king-s-birthday-honours-1lvw

Ok Jerry, it is crazy to see SFM getting any award.

But this year's events in Yew Narted Stayts will forever put SFM in the shade, when it comes to crazy incompetance.

Well, you say that, but my view is that in the land where dog is alleged to live, they are very well intending what they are doing.. Yeah.. not all of it goes according to plan - what ever does, but they are not there to make america greeat again.. and ieven if they were, "great" is a very subjective word. To them, great is them enriching themselves and those who have enabled them. Yeah, we now have a new mwaning of TACO, but the swings in the markets would be well able to be predicted and who makes money off swings in the market most? Those who know when that predictability is about to occur, and when.

They couldn't give a poop about what the US population thinks of them, let alone any other country. But, it's great news keeping the riff raff out, even if their only crime is to have some satire on their phone that mocks DT or the reiblicans.. and even then they don't really need it. Makes great divise news at home. Divide and conquer.

The fact it stuff their economy or even brings down the "empire" is neither here nor there to them.. they will have got what they want and leave it for some poor schmuk to clean it up.

They are very competent at what they want.. just not what the USA or world needs.

And it doesn't matter.. The Aus awareds are clearly as flawed as any other. And while symbolic, it is a another thing that makes people thin the swamp is full and needs to be drained... and cue a DT 2 at some stage to promise just doing that.

Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) is traditionally given to former Prime Ministers.

Gough Whitlam, Bob Hawke, Kevin Rudd, Juiia Gillard, Bill Haydon, Malcolm Fraser, John Howard, among others were all awarded the AC award.
