  1. I don't know that it was just for that. Apparently he wore a fat suit in The Whale anyway. He got out of movies for quite a while and I think there were some things going on in his life, not sure if the weight gain was a symptom or a cause. He's been in a few movies recently, and he seems to be around that weight.
  2. ABC news radio for me.
  3. Actually they are the same actor - Brendan Fraser.
  4. Space, I'm quite worried about you fiddling with the switchboard yourself. I don't mind hooking up the occasional power point but I wouldn't go near the switchboard. Still interested in WHY no sparky will work on your place.
  5. That's the rub, isn't it. If Angus Taylor or Dutton himself comes on ABC Breakfast and pushes an idea paid for by the fossil fuel companies, and they get questioned on it by the presenter because it IS at odds with scientific fact, then you get complaints about bias. If politicians stuck to facts, I'd agree with you 100%. My thesis is that the LNP sticks to facts less often than the ALP, and that's where the perceived bias comes in. I'm not saying that the ALP are perfect. I'm disgusted with a lot of things they do including the total failure to implement a complete ban of gambling advertising. This despite one of their own members having led the review which recommended it. I WANT the ABC to hold all politicians to account. I want the reporters, editors and presenters to be highly intelligent and knowledgeable people, which for the most part, they are - and I want them to ask the hard questions and not back off whether it be the PM or the leader of the opposition. If they do that then they're doing a public service and worth every dollar we all pay for their existence.
  6. That seems a bit random...
  7. He looks a bit different now.
  8. The "both sides of an issue" thing is difficult. If there is a contested viewpoint then yes, of course both/all sides should be discussed by respective experts. The problem lies in issues that are no longer widely contested. For example you wouldn't have a segment on whether the Earth was flat and give equal time to a flat-earther. There's obviously a spectrum of where issues fall in terms of science and politics - many in conflict between those two - and I'd lay money on the fact that the reason the ABC often gets accused of partisan politics by those on the conservative side, is because conservative policy is often at odds with science.
  9. Do they brush their teeth twice a day, floss, go to the dentist for a checkup and clean every 6 months and not eat too much candy?
  10. If you want good government, ban lobbyists and political donations. If he who pays the piper calls the tune, then the only people paying the political parties should be the Australian people.
  11. I can't see the airbags... and how does it do lane change assist when there's no mirrors??
  12. The ABC is funded with public money but in no way is a mouthpiece for the government, no matter who is in. In fact you generally find that both the Government and the opposition are usually annoyed at the ABC, which must mean it's doing something right.
  13. Advertising is great... "Perfect robust tool to CALM DOWN struggling fish..."
  14. I put the frames back in for the bees to reuse.
  15. Not one. Had the smoker going and both of us were fully suited up
  16. First time we've had honey from our bees! Despite neither of us really knowing what we were doing, we managed to get about 3.4kg from our one hive.
  17. Seriously though you have to ask about police procedures and training if they manage to pump 61 rounds into 1 person. Surely they're not trained to empty their whole magazine while others do the same.
  18. "Because they're American" would probably be a better answer.

  20. It's funny, isn't it. He's done a lot of good - kickstarted the electric car race, big batteries, home batteries, even done some good in the aerospace/satellite & communications field. But on the other hand he's an obnoxious twerp and the US's worst boss, who sucks up to the US's worst president. Plus he's supportive of far right hate speech and conspiracy theorists, and turned Twitter into a Trump echo chamber, not to mention push/manipulate crypto currencies which are terrible for the environment and really only used by criminals. Guess humans are complex creatures.
  21. That's not like a Nigerian prince, is it?
  22. Hmmm... I remember the bikes I owned were a lot simpler... ignition on and push the start button. (The V4 in the Honda VFR750 especially were very reliable!)
