  1. Sorry, I am biased. To me Vic is just something I drive through on my way to proper Mainland Australia.
  2. The great thing about 3hrs out of Melbourne, is that gets you out of Victoria!
  3. Well Jerry, I don't think you'll get tucker like that if you come back and live in a big city.
  4. It's all greek to me.
  5. Strong roots.... doesn'tmake it good.... like the weeds in my garden.
  6. Which raises a random thought (sorry folks)..... What is synthetic oil made from? How do they sysnthesise that ancient black sludgy stuff that used to come from deep subterranean cavities? Is it a more environmentally nice process?
  7. I like that thought. You can't buy a better seat in heaven. "Y' come into this world with nothing, y' go out with nothing.... whattya lost? Nothing!" (Life of Brian?)
  8. That is unlikely to go very far. DJT pretty much has a friendly DOJ & supreme court.
  9. He didn't ask A.I. how this car would look if it was made in USA without materials that trump has tariffed out of availability.
  10. Of course. I was only jesting. I am surprised that car makers (well, piston engined cars) persist in having a coolant temperature gauge, when with modern technology it should be a simple matter to monitor oil temp. As well as actual oil pressure.
  11. Life is a game. Whoever dies with the most toys, wins.
  12. What's a album? A long time ago we had a family album - it had a cover.
  13. Can't you just pull the wire off the sensor?
  14. They couldn't use that one - it wouldn't hold the weight of those two!
  15. Still nothing more than old man Bjelke Petersen "Feeding the chooks" As usual the only cert for a win in the election is....... The Merdoks !
  16. Further to that thought, does little donny know he is putting a tafiff on imported aloomium that comes from an american company in Australia? (Edit) Correction. Boyne Island smelters are mostly Canadian owned - Rio Tinto. Still foreign owned (even tho they speak our language)
  17. Well it's an American owned smelter. I hope you don't think they leave the profits here. If it was an Australian owned enterprise, that would be value adding, to our benefit. If we then made stuff here from it, that would be forward thinking.
  18. Here is a Monty Python view..... From 5 years ago. https://youtu.be/nT5JBrKC5M0?si=5mLccTu1gZOzlVMb
  19. As noted on ABC news:- Where is the long term vision for Australia? Where are the long term plans behind policies? I look at the success of China, and before that, the economic rise of Japan. Both of these have ridden on the back of long term vision and plans for their economic futures. We have consistently failed to be consistent.
  20. Erratic. Score:- Billionaires 1 Small business NIL Local industry NIL
  21. I liked the way he brought science into the description. Plus stuff like 'everyone knows that air is 21%oxygen, 78% nitrogen & 1% gunsmoke' Well, he is a mercan.
  22. Not as painful as Passing Another Fox
  23. Well this is about a car part that isn't actually extinct. But there is so much disinformation about EGR systems that many people are amputating this part of their vehicles. Here's an entertaining look at how EGR's work.
  24. Australia's consumer electricity is NOT the dearest in the world. "When looking at OECD countries, Australia sits 15th most expensive out of 38 countries for household electricity, according to the Global Petrol Prices website." https://www.aap.com.au/factcheck/experts-warn-of-problematic-power-price-comparisons/ Sure, we aren't the cheapest, either. The cheapest is to make a plan similar to taking out a mortgage to buy a house. The mortgage is cheaper than rent when calculated over that time. For power, buy solar panels and a battery, disconnect from the grid, and over the span of your mortgage, your power will have cost a fraction compared to grid electricity. Present costs are amortised in about 7 years. That's the break even point. After that, your power costs nothing.
