I've found AI is not too bad with simple questions that are not likely to have a hugely incorrect answer. One thing to watch with things like Google AI at the top of their search page is the reference links they give. Often they link to just something some bloke has said in Facebook or on Youtube. Far dodgier than some of the Wiki references.

Prisoners cannot be compelled to do any type of labour. If they do consent, then they are "paid" so that they can buy a few little luxuries from a shop within the prison. That's how prison industries work.

The Least likely party to do that is LABOR with their historical Union Connections. They would lose a lot of members if they did. That's not hard  to work out.. I doubt R.G.Menzies would have done it either. It's not a good look and HE had principles. Nev

Not a good look, even IF they don't fix the Potholes themselves.. Bad principle. The roads break up because they were never designed to carry heavy traffic and water gets in under the edges, softening the Underburden..  Australia has  a lot of roads and not a lot of people to pay for their upkeep.. Let's say that those 'Trustees" work hard at their assigned tasks. I bet not one of them has the knowledge nor experience of how to make a road. All they will be able to do is throw down a few shovelfuls of cold ashphaltic concrete and pound it down. Come the next bit of rain and the stuff will be ripped out of the hole. Not their fault. Just bad procedure.
