A commentator on the radio said tonight that Junior was wounded in the early raid and that's why he hasn't been seen in public. Not badly wounded I don't think. The Israelis have said he's on the list. Another legitimate target considering he's just taken over as supreme commander of a prescribed terroist organisation (IRGC).

I think the way things are at the moment, the powers that be in Iran would know the first two or three might get hit. It would make sense to stick a couple of fall guys in initially. Expendables, so to speak.

So far that oil loading island has not been touched by USA or Israel. Control of that island would control most of china's imported oil supply. And incidentally might be worth billions of $.

Yet the PM was on last night saying oh no no no we've got plenty of fuel and also reserves.

Well, in that case , why is it up 70c in my area in a wk then and when the war's hardly 2wks old ?

Tell you why the good old Aussie way see a chance to gouge and off they go exactly as predicted.

Daughter showed me a write up saying it could be 3bucks by next wk.

The price you pay is determined by supply & demand, nothing to do with the government. The Australian public has far too many panic merchants. I saw line ups the other day with people filling Jerry cans flat out. So the demand goes up & so does the price all based on fear and greed. Not only that fuel companies base their price largely on the cost of replacement in todays dollars not what they pay when the fuel you are using was paid for.

 

It takes from 2 weeks to over a month from leaving the crude export point to being refined into useable fuel and then transported to petrol stations. Australia being a long way from most of the supply points is at the end of the time frame, so at least a month.

I drove past a BP station on my way home at 4pm, where ULP91 was 219,9c/l. This is no more than the usual high point of the price cycle, though it may take longer to drop back to the low point of 169.9c/l. 

 

I still have 3/4 of a tank, as I didn't turn the key for 4 days.

Hopefully they won't blink and will finish what they started. Getting rid of the regime is the only way to provide any hope of it not happening again. The've kicked the can down the road for years and deluded themselves that you can negotiate with terrroists. The regime has been taking the mickey out of the west for years. Putin uses similar tactics, dangle the hope of negotiations and a settlement in front of suckers to string them along so you can evenntually get your own way. Nah wasn't saying the prices are the PM , just that he said we've got plenty for mths ahead. Ofc gov could do something about any of the gouging goes on here though. Rump won his election promising to get fuel prices down, house prices back to affordable, cost of living down.

Very convenient though they estimate the future price then to and start making us pay for it in advance. That'd mean when or if that price actually does come round we've already paid for it so it should go down not up. And you'll notice to when fuel is cheap all over the world they somehow don't seem to estimate that in advance and cutting our price in advance. Matter of fact they'll string out their old price mths and mths.

They gouge, ofc they do at any chance they get just like our super markets and lots of others that's why it's all over tv with new attempts every few mths at catching them out and fuel watches and all the rest of it and going off about the holiday gouging. They could justify those then to with demand but if that was really the case then it wouldn't be all over tv trying to stop it, well, talking about it anyway.

 

l mean not arguing, never bother myself people can believe what they like just sayin but me, we get snowed left and right have been decades in every direction. Eveen our Covid prices on all sorts of crap including fuel, it's been 3 or 4yrs really but nothings gone back down to where it should be even allowing for the 4yrs of inflation since.

l mean l suppose they could blame that on the Russia Ukr situation/fuel and all that but could've told whatever the case anyway we'd never see pre Covid prices again even allowing for inflation.
