I was watching an episode of the TV program In Search Of Monsters (Foxtel Animal Planet channel) which related to the Wendigo. I looked this up on the internet, and while it is a creature of native American folklore which has an isatiable hunger for human flesh, I also read this:

As a concept, the wendigo can apply to any person, idea, or movement infected by a corrosive drive toward self-aggrandizing greed and excessive consumption, traits that sow disharmony and destruction if left unchecked. Ojibwe scholar Brady DeSanti asserts that the wendigo "can be understood as a marker indicating... a person... imbalanced both internally and toward the larger community of human and spiritual beings around them."

Does  this remind you of anyone?

Nothing would have come out of a brief meeting with Trump anyway, so it's almost irrelevant whether they met or not. It would just be a photo op for home consumption.

Since we don't have a big shiny 747 to offer him, it wold have probably been, "keep paying us for our submarines.. think of it as bettering Qatar..."

Remember Trump’s meeting with the leader of South Africa when Trump claimed that White farmers were being murdered and their land taken? Not the smart thing to do when the leader of the country is sitting beside you.

Trump could destroy the US aerospace and car industries by getting the leader of South Africa offside. It all arises from the availability of the metal Vanadium.

Vanadium is used to make an alloy of steel which has extensive uses in those two industries, as well as many others which require high grade steel. There are four main producers of the ore that Vanadium is extracted from - China, Russia, South Africa and Brazil, in that order of most to lesser amounts.

You can see the difficulties with the two biggest producers, so the USA would be relying on No.3. Not a wise move to piss off your relatively secure supplier.

More corruption:

President Trump’s family business announced Monday that it was launching a mobile phone and cellular service in the first family’s latest attempt to capitalize on Mr. Trump’s political base.

Oligarchs. Make America Go Away. Its a clown show anyhow. USA respect diminishes. Unilaterally pulling out of signed and agreed DEALS doesn't win friends. Nev

Iran has created a bit of a problem for Trump with respect to his MAGA base. He was elected on the president of no wars, and a lot of MAGA are apparently tired of the US going to war in some far flung place, where US troops die and there is often little evidence to say they achieved what they achieved. I get that, So, we have the Steve Bannons of the world, who arguably is the co-founder of MAGA, critical of el pres going to war on Iran.. And we have the Lindsey Graham of the worlds - the weasely snake MAGA come lately saying - yeah drop the bombs. Apparently, there has already been a MAGA back lash, too. Trump is sort of damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. That is the problem wihen your follower base is largely filled with ideological ignoramauses who simply latch onto agendas..

Hopefully, whichever way he goes, thee will be silver lining to the cloud he brings.

Teflon Don has a problem he can't easily pin on Biden or Obama anymore.

Yes.. its is neve his fault, but MAGA maniacs will hopefully start questioning whether his art of the deal is real or not.. It has been a very long one day to end the Ukranian war... By the time it ends, it will be the longest on record, I would suggest.
