facthunter Posted April 12 Posted April 12 The real figures are Published if you look for them carefully and don't take it from Crap sources.( Which exist in abundance). Nev
willedoo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Looking at the latest Morgan poll, Labor's primary vote is 3% lower than it was when Rudd rolled Gillard. The question is, will their numbers continue to drop or have they bottomed out. If they've hit rock bottom and stay where they, Albo will probably keep his job. If they rise he surely will. In the Rudd/Gillard days they were both strong figures in the party but the lineup under Albo is underwhelming as far as leadership contenders go. Chalmers would put the ship in a dive to the bottom and Burke and Bowen are a pair of peanuts. It really only leaves Richard Marles as a viable successor if it ever came to a spill.
Marty_d Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago That's a matter of opinion. I think Chalmers, Marles, Bowen and Burke are all strong contenders for the top job. Certainly more talent than the LNP given the dingbat they made leader. 1
facthunter Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I haven't heard of any Moves to roll Albanese. It's team effort there, not a One man Band Despot show. There's Plenty of Talent there. The Alternatives have no certainty of continuing to exist. With friends like the NP and LITTLE to be PROUD of, you don't NEED enemies. The way they select Candidates is Much of the Problem. Women don't get treated well. Very Much a Monority. Nev
facthunter Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago " Anxious Failure" has a Lot of Baggage. Considered to be the Most Educated fool in the Parliament. They KNOW their Position is desperate. They are very successfully WEDGED by Hanson's Mob and their Own deserters.. The supporters MUST Hate that. Nev

Marty, there's also that gap between them being contenders within their party and being accepted by the voters to win an election. I think that's where Burke and Bowen fall well short. Probably something we'll never find out regarding those two as I doubt they'd get anywhere in a party room spill. Bowen I put at the bottom of that list as being a successful leadership contender. There would be a lot putting their hand up for the job who would easily beat him.
willedoo Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I think Albo is fairly safe in his job at the moment. Labor has hit their historically lowest primary vote ever in polling, but on a 2PP basis they'd still win an election if it was held now. 1
facthunter Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) It's all hypothetical . Who is suggesting a Likely spill? Murdoch? To be the Leader, you have to retain your seat. LIBS / NATS have done that a few times. That would illustrate How out of touch the "Inner Sanctum is with the electors. The "SENATE" is different. Depending on the vote Tally. the LIST dictates How many of that Party will get Into the Senate and WHO they will be. Keating Used to refer to the Senate as "Unrepresentative SWILL" and HE had a Point there. . It's supposed to be the House of review. Many of them are Out and Out ratbags. Malcolm Roberts as a Prime example. Tasmania's Eric Abetz (still around) also. Nev Edited 3 hours ago by facthunter 1

facthunter Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Well obviously His electorate didn't WANT him, and HIS was about the Best Blue Ribbon seat In Victoria. As HE said, the Seat where Most of the LEADERS come from. HE was "Out of Touch with the electorate and Made many Tactical Blunders. The VOTERS decided. Democracy In Action. I love it. He came a Gutser with the RSPCA. Too clever by Half. Nev

The Greens, ON, Teals and unaligned Independents may be changing that. Perhaps we could end up like some European countries where no Party can gain a majority and must seek coalition partners, thereby watering down each Party's raison d'etre. 1 1
willedoo Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Could be the future. Some pollsters are now doing two alternative 2PP estimates, one Labor against ON and one Labor against Coalition dependant on who gets the top vote between ON and the Coalition. The poll analyst's job is getting harder. 1
