Back to Dick Cheney, a NYT journalist has produced this excellent article below, pointing out how Cheney was the initiator and enabler of the Trump style of Govt, and Cheneys lies and ruthlessness and lack of concern towards the rule of law has enabled the huge army of MAGA adherents.

 

Cheney may have had a "Road to Damascus" moment when he turned his back on Trump, but Cheney takes the blame for the mess that is the political scene in America today.

Pauline Collins, the star of the film Shirley Valentine, for which she was Oscar nominated in 1990, has died at the age of 85.

One of the most ruthless, hard-nosed political "numbers man", we've ever seen in Australia. He was a consummate politician, with a low level of ethics and morals. I have no idea how he wangled an AO, he obviously plied "the numbers" to get that award, too. It makes a mockery of official awards.

Actually, it is atypical of major politicians from the major parties; it is typical of the ones who make the news, and sadly for a a few that reach the top.

 

There is no popular interest in those that work tirelessly with high ethics and morals - people don't get excited by that; so there's not much news on it - if any. We all like to complain about something and the press to their darndest to feed our wants.

 

I don't see too many ALP high flyers (at least in federal politics) embroiled in contraversy... Much to my surprise, Albo seems to be doing a good job of balancing the needs of the coutnry against powerful corporate and foreign political interests...  with ethics and morality. And he is the top pollie in the coutnry.

The major parties are on their way out. Their psyches are past their use-by date. As much as they try, they struggle to apply their old combative style of yesteryear, which is all they know. They've fallen into their own trap of rampant immigration and multiculturalism, as well as excessive socialist programs, lenient sentencing, rising power costs when we were promised much lower costs, and impossible home ownership - good luck in the future.

James Watson, co-discoverer of the double helical structure of DNA passed away on 6 November at the age of 97.
