which for that culture is saying something. I have a CEO who is very well-traveled and respectful of all religions. always telling us we need to travel to Jerusalem. to experience the culture and history. But the only time I've ever heard him say something negative about a group was the leadership in Israel. Not the people. but the leadership and the culture of the old men in power, men who don't offer anything else to society and instead seek control inside the community. those who speak in hushed tones and reject any change or individualism. I have to say this has nothing to do with the faith and the people as a whole.

get a home, now that I've been paid out by the government for mine. go on a holiday

you would think the Americans would be frothing over the possibility of returning to the golden era of war with Russia. even more direct then the Gulf war or Vietnam. And yet the two party system and the Trump factor has really limited any effectiveness. The republican's are doing everything they can to block aid

trust me not everyone can blitz a PlayStation game, I run a simulator setup at home. often defeat friends by significant amounts of time. plenty struggle with diving at speed and brake points

Because we have the same problem as the USA... our V8 taxi racing is the same as NASCAR. takes all the money/supporters and importantly media coverage. leaves everything else tiny by comparison. I miss speedweek on sunday mornings which used to cover the rallies and a few other motorsports

16M federally.... not a whole lot. what is that 3.2M each year, so $450k each state/territory. imagine most of that would be taken in an operational budget. (and it would have to be state/territory programs as we don't have national road rules) or to put it another way, its 3.2M divided by 230k students. (figures from https://www.acara.edu.au/reporting/national-report-on-schooling-in-australia/year-12-subject-enrolments) so $13.90 a student.... might cover the cost of a small booklet per student

ah ANCAP. note that they don't downgrade their existing ratings. so plenty of cars with 5 star ratings that are 3-4 on the current system.

Eh, I think these days the life of a phone is shorter then its battery life. most in my generation update every 2 years. Im still using as S9... no idea what battery its on - normally break the screen and Samsung replace the battery and outer cases as part of the refurbish program (paid for by insurance with a $50 excess) the insurance is why i dont upgrade

here you go: https://toiletmap.gov.au/ the government has an app for it too

Now the interesting part is what happen when Putin dies, if there is a power vacuum and struggle - how many countries will reclaim their land. possibly with interest?
-
yep, and it will continue piece by piece, country by country. till someone declares its time to take off the kids gloves and send troops not aid. but that will never happen as its guaranteed WW3

Import - maybe not. but we have had to put in laws to ban the Nazi salute from public places.... and already have cases going through the court. I suspect the issue isn't with 1st but 2nd generation of migrants. which is what was on display with the Palestine protests - teens and early 20's was summed up very well by the Magistrate Jacqueline Trad during the Cronulla Riot cases (herself of Lebanese descent) - told Sutherland Local Court that Osman had turned his back on his real country: "By this sort of conduct you turned your back on your family, your culture and your real country, all for the sake of some juvenile, impulsive and misplaced allegiance.... Over the last 100 years or so, the ancestors of many citizens – mine included – came to this country seeking refuge from hatred, intolerance, violence or just simply the opportunity to improve their families' prospects."

thats part of it. though the lack of knowledge with fittings can be disasterous. had plenty of valves junked because someone decided to tighten an leaking fitting that was tapered.

oh fun bit of information. Hydraulics is an unregulated industry. unlike electrical or plumbing there is no license needed (or exists) for hydraulic work
-
yeah, one of the common ones is kids working behind tractors spotting a leak in the hydraulics. and thinking that they will put their hand around it to stop it... injects oil under the skin. real nasty horrible injury. oh your lucky means cutting and draining. if not, well amputation or worse
-
both clearly state the intentions, but are ignored by leaders that prefer to talk peace and say cooler heads will prevail If we aren't careful more will fall. plenty of far right government's being elected through the world. Isolationism is on the rise. debt ridden countries like Venezuela are already eyeing off oil rich neighbor's to help repair economies. how many fronts can we reasonably fight on, eventually we will be pulling back on treaty obligations accordingly

3 generation theory, 1 to build the wealth, 1 to increase the wealth, 1 to squander it

He is a man child, that needs to be handled to be effective. arguably the poster child for ADHD - hyper focused on one thing at a time... but always jumping between them. SpaceX and Tesla are able to manage him effectively, they have departments to separate him from the day to day. and special projects.... I am convinced the Cybertruck is just an Elon Plaything, only created to distract him from the rest of the Tesla range, as they keep improving them without needing to add silly features like fart noise modes. Twitter doesn't have that separation yet he has built a cult of personality like Jobs and Edison... and I predict after he has passed he will be seen the same as them - not a visionary but men of poor character.
-
yeah, my big thing is him talking about it as blackmail..... No, No it is certainly not.
-
yeah but what do you do? cant exactly shoot at them. cant really lock them up either. I cant see "follow us to port, we are impounding your ship and putting you on lockdown in your ship until the fines are paid" as being followed either

for all your electric car posting, have at it

so went down the rabbits hole and the largest ships registered with an Australian flag are the freight ferries that run between Tasmania and Victoria. The Spirit of Tasmania. is registered in Genoa, Italy.... And the Bulk carriers for BHP were registered in Panama, till they had three deaths in 12 months, and swapped to Liberia to avoid the investigations. makes the cruise industry look like pretty good employers in comparison
-
isn't that just shipping in general? and why its all traditionally been Greeks, Russians and Philippine workers. that's the thing about it being worldwide industry, with flags of convenience - can just go to the lowest labor market available. could you imagine the aviation industry if it had flags of convenience and the same labor market?

Education is a big business. same as what the USA did. only Instead of HECS available to everyone, they made it a reward for military service. TAFE and Trade school had in my eyes a better set-up, free as long as you upskilled, (i.e. cert 4 is free if you only hold a cert 3 - but to get a second cert 3 you have to pay) but its a drain on funding. not getting offset by that lucrative foreign student market. and free is free - not a loan we have really stuffed up the system with apprenticeship's - either start as a 16yr old and lock in to that life, or risk trying to get on it as an adult - (but costing the employer more due to adult wages - so harder prospect to find)
-
The USA have been doing it for years - that's what EMT is
