  1. I believe there is a limit to the amount that is transferred instantly.... so do it in smaller increments. When I worked at a dealership we would get people to transfer $1000 first. to make sure everything worked before doing the full amount. this was so the bank didn't see it as a new payee I did a transaction last year that had to be paid within a few hours, across banks... so did several $1000 increments to be safe.
  2. only time I handle cash is when I visit the barber, even at the local sports club we swapped to EFT payments for the sausage sizzle - and doubled our earnings. as so many people don't have their wallet with them or small denominations I bought a car a month or two back, normally with private sales I get the cash out on the day - feel nervous carrying it around. count it at least 3 times. this time I sent it via bank transfer. with OSKO the guy had it in his account instantly. even transferred the registration on the spot via the internet. no need to go into moto reg the next day.
  3. Another forum I am on had a thread dedicated to Godfreys being a front... when was the last time you saw someone in there buying a vacuum?
  4. Pretty sure most of them are picking up from till drops, not distributing depends on the circulation.... I would have thought drug deals are still a cash business. remember a former dealer on a radio segment talking about buying a hot-dog van. so he could launder the cash through the bank and make it all look legitimate on paper. was buying hot dog supplies etc... and would just give them away to keep it all looking legit
  5. along with a couple of helicopters. apparently they caused more damage to the Russian air force then Ukraine did in the previous month. ... which goes to show the equipment isn't the biggest failing in the Russian forces.
  6. He needs a decent Military leadership, and tactics that are not carried over from WW2. the soldiers see the current leaders as incompetent. I think the Ukraine missile strike that killed the soldiers lined up for a speech from a leader who was several hours late is a good example. no wonder that Wagner who has the results and is actively calling out the stupidity, gets support. plus its one thing to kill the enemy... they aren't us. Its another to kill someone the same, but in a different uniform. And the spending has been on the wrong places. they are following the Nazis at the end of the war spending on super weapons ( a hand full of "stealth" fighters. nuclear torpedo's, drone carrying submarines) leaving the regular forces ill-equipped and outdated. I don't see this as the end of Putin, But it may be the end of the "special military activity" in the eyes of the people. enough to wake them into seeing it as a war, and one that actually might effect them personally.
  7. And its gone... confirmed implosion, found the debris field.
  8. Wouldn't be the first murderous submarine creator when something went wrong.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Kim_Wall
  9. probably the same guy that allegedly adding and EPIRB wasn't worth the extra weight. and is on record as saying that nothing on it is certified, as certification stifles innovation and there is too much "unnecessary additions" needed to do it.
  10. yep, most likely the carbon hull has imploded from fatigue, dead before the nervous system can process anything. its one thing to make the dive once or twice... but repeatedly. like aircraft material fatigue is a huge issue.
  11. anyone else following this. the engineering on this thing is absolutely terrifying. using carbon fiber in the hull - without any tests for defects or cracking using a view port rated for 1/4 of the depth planned using flammable material's for construction all this in a 2018 lawsuit for wrongful dismissal after they fired the guy in charge of quality after he refused to sign off in it for testing https://www.cbsnews.com/news/titanic-submarine-oceangate-hull-safety-lawsuit/
  12. The current Victorian highway patrol BMW's go pretty hard apparently.... only complaint swapping from the commodores was not as comfortable with the weapons belts on when I was working at Ducati we were on first name basis with most of the local hwy unit. they would all come into the dealership when the cars were getting looked at next-door. (apparently BMW could program the exhaust valve to stay open, which many officers had done with servicing) there was some WRX's in the 90's and then there is the unmarked fleet.... I know of a Hyabusa and a couple of Ducati Multistrada's in the fleet
  13. I remember seeing pictures of a modified flacon, that had double wheel rear axles. from memory was a WA car. and then there was the Giacottolo interesting article I found on the history of police interceptors and the link to Bathurst apparently they were the perfect way to sneak in performance homologation parts without it being known to the public https://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/feature-cars/1105/vl-commodore-police-interceptor-(1987)-review
  14. Yeah, definitely was in jest. I often see the photos of the old school highway patrol and think that it was such a cooler looking era. and the stories too of the special build chase cars. the more freedom they had with booking people or giving warnings (a previous workshop advisor I worked closely with was a former coffin cheaters secretary from that era. he had the best stories about dropping Bathurst race engines into Utes for the Melbourne to Sydney drug run) all before my time of course being born in 1991
  15. this is something I have a big issue with, I think the continual raising of the age for learners is completely wrong. these are supervised drivers. and we are taking it out of the most teachable years. ask any coach and they will tell you a 16 year old is far more malleable then an 18 year old. and putting the P plates right at the age they are discovering alcohol, nightclubs and dealing with exams and adulthood is just asking for trouble. you want them to have a good understanding of the basics before they reach that stage.
  16. can we all agree that the problem is the highway patrol no longer wear leather boots and pants... I mean where is the authority, the sign of being a specialist in their field
  17. ahh the age old speed limit debate, I really enjoyed taking a bike to tassie a few months ago and being treated like a grown-up 100km/h pretty much everywhere outside of town. through flat farmland and twisting mountains - leave it up to drivers, to choose a safe speed for the vehicle. police mainly enforcing the 80km/h and 60km/k zones inside the towns (and apparently highways.... but we avoided those). over here as soon as it got to a tight twisty road the limit would be dropped to 60km/h for safety.... got to set the limit for the worst vehicle/driver not the average one
  18. that cricket episode is amazing, worth the 7 minutes to watch it
  19. Surprised a dash cam isn't a legal requirement? and on a bus a camera facing the passengers. I believe its on public transport I would be surprised if there wasn't a GPS tracker fitted - I thought that was basically industry standard
  20. guess that's the difference between designing to the specification's asked, and building to maximize the resources available
  21. Whats the phrase that has been getting thrown around with the brittany higgins case, "don't theorise conspiracy, that which can be attributed to ineptitude" or something
  22. pfft, I used to work in a Harley Dealership, The accessories books from the USA suppliers were entertaining....
  23. I wonder how being the 2cnd best army in Ukraine has effected the Russian arms sales. surely places that have access to western arms like india will be questioning current and future contracts
  24. been reading today that it might actually have been a ecological miracle. as it was from the soviet era and sacrificed a lot of good farm land. with modern farming abilities the water needed is reduced. Unfortunately they are already politicizing it as a "we will rebuild" without the question of should it be rebuilt
