Watching Sunrise this morning with closed captions. They referred to Shirvo (Matt Shirvington) as 'cherveau'.

I watch sunrise most mornings. 

I don't get closed captions. Just twitters, bluesky and a colour show. The wrens come out first.

 

Best of all it has no merdok.

I am very aware of that, There's nothing better than views of Natural Phenomena Including the Universe itself What a Colossal amount is available to us at the Moment but We Get Karl and Jackie O and Views not News. TV could have educated Millions instead of Creating Division and HATE. . Nev

I might self exclude myself from the news again in the mornings. When I didn't turn it on I felt better. It might be a bit of an ostrich move (head in the sand) but it is always someone else's misery that gets reported.

No wonder so many people are depressed.

Foreigners visiting our country say they often have difficulty with the Aussie vernacular. For example, the shortening of words. Arvo, servo, g'day, footy, etc.  Another is the great Australian "NOT" - how the answer to many questions is what it's not -

 

How are you today?   Not bad.

How much further?    Not far.

How many of those lollies did you eat?   Not many.

What did you pay for those sneakers?   Not much.

When are you knocking off?    Not long.

Like Arte Johnson as the letch and Ruth Buzzi as the frump in Rowan and MArtin's Laugh In. The letch sidles up to the frump and asks "Do you believe in the Hereafter? Then you know what I'm here after."

An old WW2 Veteran and the local Shire Foreman used to expand on that line, in the mid-1960's - He would say, "Do you believe in the hereafter? If you do, then you know what I'm here after! And if you don't, you'll be here after I'm gone!" I think the line must have been around for a long time, possibly even before WW2.

Epstein's death and coverup are proof that Republicans and Democrats can work together..... if the price is right.

It would be difficult to substantiate that statement. Epstein wanted people with BIG money and/or a BIG Public Profile not necessarily confined to American Shores. He wouldn't have worried enough Democrats for them as a body to get Involved with such an unpleasant Character.  A consider he did NOT commit suicide.  He had plenty who wanted him silenced and his writings Kept under cover.  He lived dangerously.  Nev
