Unfortunately, there isn't any upside for the Australian Government to openly criticise the Trump administration's domestic activities within the US or complain that he doesn't care about the Constitution. Netanyahu's ruthless destruction of a neighbouring country is not in the same category as what Trump does within the US borders. We also benefit from what goes on at Pine Gap and the other facilities in terms of intelligence and security, so they are not going to be closed. However, I don't think Albo would be silly enough to sign up to Trump's new scheme.

No, I'm not cynical. I think Albo's doing a good job, as is Penny Wong and others, but they have to pick their battles wisely. The world certainly need good politicians and leaders but there are plenty of examples of bad ones.

Trump has written a letter to Norway about Greenland and the Nobel Peace Prize:

According to both Bloomberg and Reuters, in his letter to the Norwegian leader, Trump wrote: “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

“Although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” the letter said.

The President then bashed Denmark, saying it cannot protect Greenland from Russia or China, and questioned its claim over the Arctic territory, saying: “There are no written documents; it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also.”

Trump ends the letter saying: “The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.”

According to PBS Newshour’s Nick Schifrin, who first reported on the matter, the letter has been forwarded by the National Security Council staff to multiple European ambassadors in Washington.

President Donald Trump has upgraded his "Mister Tariff" nickname for something more regal.

Taking to Truth Social yesterday (January 17), he posted a black-and-white photo of himself with the words "Mister Tariff" above the image, but then immediately followed up with another post with the same photo, but this time it had the words "The Tariff King" instead.

It's not the first time Trump has declared this nickname for himself, at a White House event on rural health care on Friday, he told reporters, "I’m the tariff king and the tariff king has done a great job."

He's got a real thing about being a King. He can't wangle being named King of America, so he'll find other "Kingly" names for himself. His mindset is that of a 5 yr old.
