rgmwa Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Unfortunately, there isn't any upside for the Australian Government to openly criticise the Trump administration's domestic activities within the US or complain that he doesn't care about the Constitution. Netanyahu's ruthless destruction of a neighbouring country is not in the same category as what Trump does within the US borders. We also benefit from what goes on at Pine Gap and the other facilities in terms of intelligence and security, so they are not going to be closed. However, I don't think Albo would be silly enough to sign up to Trump's new scheme. 1
facthunter Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm not as cynical as you appear to be. I've followed politics from an early age. I've always Believed the world NEEDS good Politicians/ Leaders and My mind has not changed except Maybe the feeling is even stronger. I was Born into WW2. in a Coal and steel Town. rgmwa Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago No, I'm not cynical. I think Albo's doing a good job, as is Penny Wong and others, but they have to pick their battles wisely. The world certainly need good politicians and leaders but there are plenty of examples of bad ones. 1
old man emu Posted 33 minutes ago Author Posted 33 minutes ago Maybe it is wise for Australia to keep its head down and not make any noise so that the big boys ignore us. 1
