When we were on holiday in Tasmania last year almost every local we met with an opinion about building a new stadium in Hobart was against it. Mostly they couldn't understand what was wrong with the existing one. It looked pretty good to me as well.

It was a classic conflation by the AFL.  "If you want a team, you gotta build the stadium".  There's heaps of cars on the road with "Yes AFL team, Yes stadium" bumper stickers, and an equal number with "No stadium" on them.  But until recently I never saw one with "Yes AFL team, No stadium".

Trouble is, the state government went along with it, Jeremy saw a chance to build his legacy, and Labor jumped on board as well.

Now we're in the ridiculous situation where both major parties want the $1b+ stadium even though this snap election is because the state's budget is already in the shitter, so anyone opposed to the stadium is going to be voting for the Greens or other minor parties/independents, and whoever gets in is going to have a far smaller minority than the Libs currently do.

As I said the majority of diehard footy fans are up north.  We have a population here of about half a mil. Are they really expecting crowds of 5-10% of the entire state's population to attend every game?

All good points.

I was thinking how when doing a press conference about the report stating his club had been horribly racist against black players including insisting their girlfriends get abortions etc.

And the prick said it was a proud day for the club, and he meant it.

His sins are many

Care to name the offender.. there was a lot  of disinformation about the key players in the saga I am thinking about..

The Aussie Human Rights Commission basically said nothing to answer to.. Despite this, the club decided to pay up anyway

Just wait until Elon's vindictiveness comes to the fore and he starts unloading on his "best mate". It will be pretty revealing. I could never understand how Trump could promote Tesla's, when he's dead set on eliminating EV's from the landscape, and promoting oil companies and more gas guzzlers. Just goes to show his sincerity is non-existent.

I think the quarter of a billion Elon gave him to get elected compensated for his anti-EV sentiments

Trump HUMPS and then DUMPs everybody.  It's PAR for the Course. IF you beat him at Golf, He'd deport you. IF HE can't be the Centre of Attention, it's NOT happening Mate. He want's to RUN the entire WORLD From a low majority of a 200 million  voting Population of which perhaps 140 Mil voted. so   a great majority  of the planet had NO  SAY whatever. A preposterous suggestion. WE should tell him where HE gets OFF. It WILL HAVE to HAPPEN sometime.  Albanese's win was IMPRESSIVE. Not Imposing tariffs on the USA in return I pretty COOL. Trump is USA's Problem and their Creation. There's Plenty of other fish in the sea. to deal with. When someone unilaterally Breaks Deals, why  DEAL with them?  Nev
