There was a bloke eating a car at the show back then. You paid to go into the tent, he had a car (I think Holden) and was cutting off bits, filing them and eating the filings. He said it would take several years to eat the car.

 

Next door was Chad Morgan, off his face with a hip flask. He had to stand up all day and play funny songs as the customers came and went.

 

And Vanessa the Undresser. I didn't go in, but there were half a dozen girls on the catwalk out the front between shows. With the wisdom of age, I suspect they were all Trans folk.

Jimmy Sharman's winter lodgings were at Narellan, near Camden. The buildings are still there on the site of the private air museum. The street is called Sharman Close. Nowadays that street is listed as being in Harrington Park.
