facthunter Posted Saturday at 02:04 AM Posted Saturday at 02:04 AM Noah is made up.. It's a dumb Yarn. There is no doubt that where you are you can miss out with wet from all directions .Nev
facthunter Posted Saturday at 02:10 AM Posted Saturday at 02:10 AM Looks like what I expected you to get has passed and split up north and south near the coast, now. Nev
facthunter Posted Saturday at 04:22 AM Posted Saturday at 04:22 AM Do you have some way of checking your Humidity? Height of the cloud base gives some indication. With Low humidity the clouds tend to dissipate. Moist air from the east dumps the rain on the divide. nev

Records at several surrounding airports seem to say that teh humidity has beena round 60%. 1

You should apply to the government for a humidity grant. We have had Relative Humidity around 80% for days now, and it's still drizzling. But that's normal around here. 1
old man emu Posted Saturday at 11:03 AM Posted Saturday at 11:03 AM Although it seems contradictory to say it, I pride myself on the level of my humidity. 1 1

onetrack Posted Sunday at 01:35 AM Posted Sunday at 01:35 AM We're on the receiving end of another large cold front and big rain band, which has produced another very welcome 10mm of rain between 7:00AM and 9:00AM this morning. There's a lot more to come, according to the BOM, but it has stopped raining for the moment (9:30AM). I went up to my block in the Wheatbelt yesterday just to check on things, and it was still bitterly cold. The area got down to below -2° the night before. I was walking around the yard at 10:30AM, and came to an open-topped crate that has a tarp draped over it, which always collects water. I looked at the water and it looked a little opaque. I thought, "That's ice, still in there!" Sure enough I reached into the pool and pulled out a large sheet of ice, which was still about 3mm thick!! It broke in half, but the piece I'm holding is still about 300x500mm. And yes, I'm still wearing my well-insulated mechanics gloves! 1
facthunter Posted Sunday at 01:42 AM Posted Sunday at 01:42 AM You could make yourself a couple of wet and dry bulb thermometers and have them outside and shaded.. Nev 1

spacesailor Posted Sunday at 05:03 AM Posted Sunday at 05:03 AM If you have good humidity . You can get water by draping a tarp , to catch that moisture. It was done in the Andes mountains , were it never ( seldom ) rains . spacesailor 2
onetrack Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM Posted Sunday at 08:48 AM Nomadpete wants a meteorological instrument that predicts when it's going to stop raining for him, for at least half an hour. 😄 I can recall a bloke telling me how he worked at Queentown, and it rains so much there, that any time the sun came out for a few hours, workers would knock off and go for a picnic, just to enjoy a couple of hours of sunshine! 1 1

facthunter Posted Sunday at 11:27 PM Posted Sunday at 11:27 PM Must be more in Queens land. It's bigger. Tassie was the last place for Homosexuality to be decriminalised . I reckon it should be TASWEGIA, rather than some kind of MANIA..Nev 1

facthunter Posted Monday at 06:51 AM Posted Monday at 06:51 AM No "D" in it . Don't get your hopes up. Nor wegians Live in Norway. Tassie could be South way OR the REAL South Australia unless you want to Seccede like WA does often, especially when they are doing well.. Nev 2
nomadpete Posted Monday at 08:06 AM Posted Monday at 08:06 AM 1 hour ago, facthunter said: unless you want to Seccede like WA does often, Funny you should say that . I tell everyone I meet, that Tasmania should seccede and pull up the drawbridge. There's too many foreign migrants down here already and they are watering down our culture. They keep flooding in from that big island just to the north of us. 1
