I've been offline for most of the day, so you beat me with the report of Neil Sedaka. But there is a local one today.

 

Lorraine Bailey, Grace Sullivan from the Aussie TV show The Sullivans, passed away today aged 89. A number of other TV and stage roles, and two Logies.

Brisbane radio personality, comedian, singer and puppeteer, operator of Agro, Jamie Dunn, has passed away. He was aged 75.

 

4BC‘s Gary Hardgrave broke the news:

 

“Apparently he woke up this morning not feeling too well, said to the love of his life Maree, ‘I’m going to go back to bed for a little while’ and unfortunately he passed away there.

There's an actress that I haven't heard of in a long time. She was a stunner when she was young - when she got older, age and disease obviously weren't kind to her.

Songwriter Chip Taylor — best known for writing the classic hit “Wild Thing” — has died at the age of 86.

 

Born James Wesley Voight in 1940, Taylor was the younger brother of actor Jon Voight and geologist Barry Voight. He was also the uncle of actress Angelina Jolie and her brother, James Haven.

Authorities have revealed Neil Sedaka’s official cause of death. ( See OT's post 28 Feb)

 

According to his death certificate, obtained by the New York Post and published Wednesday, the legendary songwriter died from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Kidney failure was also listed as a contributing factor in his death.

 

Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease occurs when plaque builds up in the arteries, potentially leading to serious complications such as blood clots, strokes, and kidney failure, according to the Mayo Clinic.
