onetrack Posted 20 hours ago Author Posted 20 hours ago I'm getting worried now, virtually all the stars of my younger years and my era are gone, or just about gone. To add to my gloom, I've been looking up all the veterans I served with in Vietnam, and I've found a large number of them have died. The bloke who slept in the bed next to mine in our hut in Nui Dat, just died late last month, I never saw him again after I left 'Nam, and it appears he got dementia and spent the last few years in an aged care home. He was just an ordinary, decent enough bloke, he didn't achieve great fame or fortune, he came from Canowindra, he went back to Canowindra after he did his National Service, and apparently just lived out his life there. 1

old man emu Posted 38 minutes ago Posted 38 minutes ago Back in the day, it was common practice each morning to glance over the Births, Deaths and Marriages in the newspaper. It is becoming a habit, on this forum, to check this thread each morning for that sort of information. Births, Deaths and Mrriages was also known as "Hatches, Matches and Dispatches".
