  1. If it's my family, it would be both. Definitely a funeral giggle.
  2. Scary, the oligarchy and political capture seem sure to head us to destruction. Imagine if Stephen Fry was president how different the world would be. The world our children inherit is nothing like any human has ever seen or could imagine in all but the most catastrophic sci-fi. We are running half blind to extinction.
  3. They sure did, my second partners dad had the "luck" of been hit three different times by German subs. First time he escaped the engine room just in time. The second was on deck, the third in the wheel house. He was very lucky, each time he was rescued and only minor burns at worst. Most never had a chance or drowned. He was one extremely lucky engineer. They called him " hard to kill Bill" The British merchant navy was a far more deadly job then a war ship posting.
  4. Pic of homemade Thai chilli jam crab. I know looks bad, but couldn't afford baked beans.
  5. Sounds like a plan, lots of great coastal spots around lakes entrance, a huge boaty area. In Victoria you can live onboard with no gov hassles. If you want isolated but close, Mornington Peninsula or Philip island are great. Yes we need a envy emoji, just to demonstrate how shit Aus is. Don't come, the food will eat you and the tourists taste terrible. Port Stephens is awesome and lots of work in Newcastle or Sydney. We even accept Poms but hide the beer and wine from them. Naturally the seafood is terrible, I had to force down the fifth 🦀. I even had the supervisor tell me not to eat them. Here he is on patrol poor buggar had to eat big gar fish. It's a awful place to live, all those tourist pics are just fake news...
  6. Not a lot of meat but very sweet, the effort is definitely worth it. Had great weather but a change is in the air. I get muddies for volume and blueys for flavour.
  7. As long as they subscribe to humanity and compassion I don't give a shit what they do at home.
  8. Surgeons are great at fixing body bits just not very humane
  9. Yesterday was a kilo bream and a very large leather jacket. Ah life is hard
  10. At $40 min a kilo, I want them fresh and free.
  11. Beautiful day in the port for Easter. Lifted my pot and bingo, 5 nice blue swimmers for dinner. Will do a homemade Thai chilli jam 🦀 in the wok. What do the poor eat? Bloody fresh seafood.
  12. It must be remembered that Surgeons are called Mr, not doctor for a reason. As a group they are seen as arrogant and often socially abhorrent in attitude, they cut up bodies as they have the bedside manner of a crocodile. They are normally seen as the butchers of medicine, bodies are machines and humanity comes a distant second. Many have delusions of their godlike powers. There are lots of highly educated fuckwits in medicine.
  13. Caution: flame retardant suit on. " If you put it in the bum, you won't be a mum"
  14. How the hell do you target Koalas from a heli? They are bloody hard to spot in a tree.
  15. 15/30 sounds quite normal or 5/20. The 15/40 is very thick when cold for a modern engine.
  16. That's a simple question.. I put the country and its people first
  17. Forget that failed airframe. Get the real deal, a Piaggio Avanti. Jet speed and turboprop cost.
  18. Also the pcv which controls the pressure waves in the crankcase, they need to be checked and cleaned regularly and replaced asap if faulty. When blocked the oil is quickly contaminated and the head is first to fail.
  19. Just like your pcv, the EGR is essential not just for emissions but proper air and oil flow in the motor. Their blockage is a major source of sludged motors. Once the sludge builds up all the tiny oilways for cams and variable timing get blocked and a dead motor is soon on the cards.
  20. Just think who would Gina or Donald vote for? Now vote the opposite
  21. Are you old blokes saying your Kidneys are no good? So much for helping a young bloke out. Bloody hard finding a set that hasn't been abused these days. Come on fellas someone doesn't need them do they? Will get you drunk afterwards, all the ice baths you need for life.
  22. Politics like is a participation sport. If you don't get involved you loose.
  23. And that's why the Trump plan is too destroy education and only have friendly scared media. Unless we know the facts and the life the kid has endured it's just sensational media scare mongering. Many if not all Sudanese are refugees or their parents from a horrific war and are traumatized from their experience, as a population they have a form of PTSD. They are courageous people who have overcome extreme circumstances that deserve quality services to help. Education and mental health help that's sensitive to this reality are sorely lacking. It sure makes it harder when media beat ups just blame a ethnic group.
  24. They seem to grow faster the older we get. If he really wants to fly, get him in the Air league if ones nearby. That can get him training and simulator /airtime in the RAAF way, its a headstart when the number of possible applicants finish school and apply. In the league, current grades don't matter, it's what he does going forward. He will have the ability to get massively subsidised flight time in training aircraft with ground school free. And trained the way the RAAF wants. It's also a great motivator to improve his grades as he now sees a clear application to his education.
  25. Jerry, I think you mean it was built on a Wednesday if it was real good. Normally Monday was getting back in the swing of building after the heavy weekend drinking. Friday cars tended to be slap dash as everyone was tired and wanted out as fast as possible. Also much more likely to have run out of stock of good parts and the rejects or old parts got used. I agree the HR looked better than the HD. The later HT looked very bland. The EH premier I liked, but not the clapped out one my brother had. I did like the HZ GTS? Wagon V8 my cousin had, loved the electric window tailgate. My grandmother had a EK from new and only 35k miles in 2003 when she died, only driven to Hay bowls, shops and Maude Weir. Grandad had a GPack Torana in green with stripes. Dad had various Kingswood. I have probably driven every model Holden made locally except at FX. I remember out on the Hay plains, flat chat in a HT ute going to Maude Weir. As a kid 130 was fast, esp with the Roos nearby. Then it was fun fishing for carp with explosives. Not the sort of thing done these days. But even as a young kid, I knew the world was full of more fun and speed. My oldest brothers highly modded Cooper S 1380 Mini was the antidote needed. The David Vizard book on Mini engine building and racing mods was my Bible at 8 years old. Then I got a ride in a Alfa Romeo which completely cured me of the family Holden disease. I am the only one in my big family to have never owned a Holden.
