  1. Looks like the House Committee has decided to make Trump's tax returns public. Should be interesting but I would have thought a risky move politically. I half expected them to rely on the returns turning up as evidence in his business trials, being leaked to the newspapers and made public that way. The result would have been the same but they would have avoided setting what will be seen as a partisan precedent.
  2. Even if they decide not to make them public they could presumably be subpoenaed by the various prosecutors investigating Trump’s business dealings.
  3. Apparently unrestricted free speech actually has limits when the owner doesn’t like what was said. What a clown.
  4. The money he made from his swap cards will probably only pay his legal bills for a week.
  5. He and Alison Krause have performed regularly in recent years.
  6. Twitter seems to be like aviation - a good way to turn a large fortune into a small one.
  7. Sold out in two days apparently, so if that’s true he’s pocketed about $4.5m despite being widely ridiculed.
  8. Has anyone signed up for Trump's cartoon cards yet? Can't wait to collect the full set myself. Might even win the round of golf prize if I'm lucky. I thought he might be announcing he was splitting from the Republicans to start his own political party. He could probably drag enough supporters along with him to make it worthwhile, at the same time deny them to the Republicans and also avoid having to compete with others to become the eventual Republican nominee. I was a bit off-track. He was obviously thinking on a completely different level. What a genius!
  9. I thought it was very imaginative and conveyed an air of profound contentment with the state of the universe in your backyard.
  10. Brevity is a virtue... unless you're filling in time waiting for the turf grow.
  11. Open air Christmas Play in my opinion.
  12. I think the dates of both events have been unreliably reported.
  13. I think his days are numbered. Even the Republicans are likely to be sick of hearing his constant bleating and moaning about fraud and corruption (the only thing he actually knows anything about, ironically) for another two years. With any luck he will be in jail and bankrupt again well before the next election.
  14. The damage likely to be caused by the odd drone or two hitting Russian bases hardly seems worth the downside of providing Putin with useful domestic propaganda to support his war in Ukraine.
  15. That's probably what most people think happened, but there was no way to prove it one way or the other.
  16. One concern is whether the current level US aid to Ukraine will be maintained after the GOP takes control of the House of Representatives. There are a significant number of Republicans who would be happy to undermine both Biden and the Ukrainians.
  17. Model planes have come a long way.
  18. If it's real then it's frightening enough just to watch, let alone being a crew member in one of those tanks or trucks knowing that a missile ambush could come at any time.
  19. Hard to see how they could take an area the size of Crimea in such a short time and in winter, but good luck to them if they think they can pull it off.
  20. It’s not going too well so far.
  21. Apparently the Russians have said that their latest missile and drone attacks were launched because the Ukrainians are refusing to negotiate to find a solution. Putin must be getting very frustrated that the SMO isn’t going to plan.
  22. If the Ukrainians start attacking Russia directly it will just allow Putin to say that Nato and its Ukrainian puppet have finally shown their true colours and left Russia with no choice but to retaliate with its nuclear weapons for this unprovoked aggression. Most Russians would believe him. Even those who are aware of what's going on and currently have some sympathy towards the Ukrainian people would probably fall into line.
  23. He's not insane but he does seem to have one or two character flaws. He doesn't drink though, which is probably very wise given his personality.
  24. They probably left all their ammunition on the other side of the river.
  25. The elections seem to have run pretty smoothly with little or no talk of democrat rigging or republican militia heavies causing trouble at the polling booths. An encouraging sign for some semblance of a return to a normal democratic process in America, and another poke in the eye for Trump and his MAGA followers.
