My concern about AI is, who will reap the benefits? If the increased profits from reducing the workforce only end up in the CEO's pocket, then it will be disastrous. This is being considered with regard to robot technology, with the idea of taxing industrial robots as if they were a paid worker. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robot_tax. We need to ask questions about how many hours a week we should be working. Throughout history, working hours have decreased, and for most, the standard of living has increased The thing is that the companies using AI need to have customers. If half the population is unemployed, then what will who will Amazon sell to? I think there are legitimate things to worry about; however, there are also significant gains.
facthunter Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago TV is a great thing too and the NET BUT look how the potential is not realised. T ABot told Turnbull HIS JOB was to DESTROY the NBN and were were set back years which we have NEVER recovered from and 50Bilion Dollars Wasted . Most stuff on TV is NOT worth Watching. There could be Educational Channels. On Line you get Hacked and Scammed. Nev 1
spacesailor Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago A lot of " automotive spray painters " were redundant to full automatic sprayers. Now I see lots of newish cars with paint problems. Where are those professional painter's , that could repair bad workmanship gone . I pass an almost permanent sign for painters , when going to the shopping centre . spacesailor
onetrack Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I fear the day the criminals start using AI to advance their criminal activities.
