Assassination is the willful killing, by a sudden or secret attack, of a person—especially if prominent or important. It may be prompted by political, ideological, religious, financial, or military motives.

It appears that Kirk fits the definition as he definitely was a prominent person in the USA who expressed ideological ideas.

Criticising Netayahu for what HE does is Justified and NOT antisemetic. No one can demand a BLANK Cheque to do what they want. IDF own database shows 83% of DEATHS are civilians. An "Unparalleled level".  Nev

Kirk frequently visited University Campuses where He debated his views very Effectively. "Prove ME Wrong" was his Theme. He is credited with being a Major factor of Young Peoples support for Trump at the Last election. (ever).  Nev

Not checking rooftops seems to be a theme.

While no one deserves to be shot (although I wouldn't shed any tears if Trump copped one), there is some irony that he was apparently pushing a very pro-gun line and one of his views was that yes, there will be extra deaths from gun violence, but it's worth it.

What really gave me cold shivers was Trump's response.  Can't remember it word for word but it was along the lines of "There are a lot of left-wing lunatics.  They're terrible.  And we're going to do something about that."

So without knowing who fired the shot or what his motivation was (remember he's not necessarily a pissed-off Democrat - apparently the guy that tried to shoot Trump was just doing it for the notoriety, didn't give a shit about the politics) - Trump has already decided it must be ideological, and he's going to clamp down on the "left wing lunatics".

I see more stupid, democracy-wrecking actions by Trump in the future. He's already looking like a tin-pot dictator, now he will really try to make the USA an authoritarian christian state with him as supreme leader.

Don't forget he fully supported Bolsonaro in Brazil, who has just been found guilty of plotting a coup and planning to kill the actual elected president.  He loves (other) right-wing, authoritarian nut job dictators.

I'm gettng sick and tired of having to pay homage to a Nation whose attitudes towards its people are so opposite to those held by Nations considered to be civilised.

Here is a full quote of what Charlie Kirk said about guns and the Second Amendment:

AUDIENCE QUESTION: How's it going, Charlie? I'm Austin. I just had a question related to Second Amendment rights. We saw the shooting that happened recently and a lot of people are upset. But, I'm seeing people argue for the other side that they want to take our Second Amendment rights away. How do we convince them that it's important to have the right to defend ourselves and all that good stuff?

CHARLIE KIRK: Yeah, it's a great question. Thank you. So, I'm a big Second Amendment fan but I think most politicians are cowards when it comes to defending why we have a Second Amendment. This is why I would not be a good politician, or maybe I would, I don't know, because I actually speak my mind.

The Second Amendment is not about hunting. I love hunting. The Second Amendment is not even about personal defense. That is important. The Second Amendment is there, God forbid, so that you can defend yourself against a tyrannical government. And if that talk scares you — "wow, that's radical, Charlie, I don't know about that" — well then, you have not really read any of the literature of our Founding Fathers. Number two, you've not read any 20th-century history. You're just living in Narnia. By the way, if you're actually living in Narnia, you would be wiser than wherever you're living, because C.S. Lewis was really smart. So I don't know what alternative universe you're living in. You just don't want to face reality that governments tend to get tyrannical and that if people need an ability to protect themselves and their communities and their families.

Now, we must also be real. We must be honest with the population. Having an armed citizenry comes with a price, and that is part of liberty. Driving comes with a price. 50,000, people die on the road every year. That's a price. You get rid of driving, you'd have 50,000 less auto fatalities. But we have decided that the benefit of driving — speed, accessibility, mobility, having products, services — is worth the cost of 50,000 people dying on the road. So we need to be very clear that you're not going to get gun deaths to zero. It will not happen. You could significantly reduce them through having more fathers in the home, by having more armed guards in front of schools. We should have a honest and clear reductionist view of gun violence, but we should not have a utopian one.
You will never live in a society when you have an armed citizenry and you won't have a single gun death. That is nonsense. It's drivel. But I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal. It is rational. Nobody talks like this. They live in a complete alternate universe.

So then, how do you reduce? Very simple. People say, oh, Charlie, how do you stop school shootings? I don't know. How did we stop shootings at baseball games? Because we have armed guards outside of baseball games. That's why. How did we stop all the shootings at airports? We have armed guards outside of airports. How do we stop all the shootings at banks? We have armed guards outside of banks. How did we stop all the shootings at gun shows? Notice there's not a lot of mass shootings at gun shows, there's all these guns. Because everyone's armed. If our money and our sporting events and our airplanes have armed guards, why don't our children?

The total irony of his reply is astounding.

Does that make him a martyr to what he thinks?

OME Do YOU/WE pay homage to the USA?  WE might accept Trump was Elected but not by US.

red the quote says a lot about how the right to bear arms is sacrosanct in the good OL USA. When those words were  Writ the Guns were Flintlocks. Why not go a bit further and allow OTHER Military firepower?  What an irony though to die  by a nutter's whim in THE VERY manner HE supports.  USA IS a  Strange Place these DAYS. NOT UNITED at all. Good People will FEEL they have to Leave. Nev

The question is, what comes next? He has become a martyr to the Republican cause and we could well see more violent incidents. Trump is stoking the flames as usual.

Many people have already lost their jobs because they posted comments - some of them way out of line, others just logical - about this.

The hypocrisy is astounding.  I don't remember any right wing nut jobs getting fired for celebrating the deaths of the recent Democrat murders, the politician's husband who was bashed with a hammer, etc etc.

Yet one right wing pusher of drivel gets killed and you'd think he was Jesus.

Now the mad bastards on the conservative side are out for blood and revenge.  I'd hate to be a normal person in the USA right now.

If you haven't seen "Civil War", watch it.  I reckon it's about to come true.

I don't like the American culture and the Americans' idea that their culture should be imposed on everyone else. The Americans have been radicalised as much as the people of 1930s Germany; Soviet Russia, Communist China and North Vietnam.

I don't want to pay homae to teh USA, but the USA expects us to pay homage to it.

These Christian Fundamentalists are worse than the Taliban, with their BS religious beliefs and biblical interpretations. They're not Christians, they worship Guns and Money over God.

They're continually in the grip of the Gun Lobby, and they continually rave on about the "freedom" of the Second Amendment. Their BS line is the Second Amendment protects them from a "tyrannical" Govt. What a crock of sh**.

Armed civilians have no hope of overthrowing a Govt that possesses all of the most sophisticated military equipment that they need to win wars against similarly-equipped enemy nations.

It is propaganda on a level that would make Goebbels envious. They are fully prepared to keep worshipping the Gun God and sacrificing their children, friends, family members, and leaders, endlessly in mass shootings - because any crackhead can acquire a hundred firearms of their choice under their f*****-up Constitution, that they refuse to modify, because they insist it came from God on stone tablets.

One can only wish that all the sensible people leave America to move to countries where common sense reigns, and Christian Fundamentalist BS has no sway.
