I have two small torches from Woolies which are each powered by two AA batteries. They give off a very bright light and the batteries last at least 6 months. They are 14cm long and 2 cm in diameter. They cost less than $10 each. They fit in the neck of a Daily Juice bottle which gives a solid base to bounce the light off the ceiling. One torch is sufficient to light a room enough to walk around safely without bumping in to things, and can easily be carried around.

We got something interesting in the letterbox the other day. We have doubtless all received fridge magnets for various services such as plumbers, gutter cleaning, etc., but this one was a bit different. It was for an electrician, and the word ELECTRICIAN and the phone number were flourescent, so that when the lights go out these details glow in the dark. Interesting idea.

I can't get over the unbridaled hatred MAGA supporters have for moderates and Democrats. FB comments by them in reply to some of the articles I copy and post, or to other comments, is vitriolic and downright threatening. And some of the things we take as normal, like Medicare, PBS medications, Centrelink benefits is considered to be communist. We can have idealogical differences between left and right here, but it doesn't come anywhere near as aggressive as I have seen in the States.
