Received a call yesterday, waited the 30 seconds, and a female voice with Indian accent said "Hello?" I said "Who are you and what do you want?" She started on about solar panels, I said "Let me stop you there. This number is on the Do Not Call register and you are breaking the law. Get off the phone." Then I hung up.

Another recorded female voice, with an Australian accent, said "Hello, I'm Nicole from the Australian National Broadband Network." I hung up because that is a well known and recognised scam.

I do not answer No Caller ID calls, or calls from numbers I don't recognise - too many scam or telemarketing calls. When I answer the landline, I don't speak until they do. More often than not, the call terminates within 30 sec. Robocalls.

They still have test patterns?

During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, "How do you determine whether or not an older person should be put in an old age home?"

So? Cheated on his wife with a married woman. That's the man you want as PM. What about the 'other' accusation. Was not charged, not because he wasn't guilty, but because the police couldn't get the evidence to mount a case.

Lite, labour is what you do with a pick and shovel. The political party is Labor. There may be plenty of labour in you, but no U in Labor.

Back to electric cars. Where it is quoted to charge a Nissan Leaf 8-12 hours, that is in the USA, where their power is 110 volts. With 240 volts in Australia, a full charge should take around 4 hours. Put it on at 7 pm, take it off at 11 pm, before bed.

An electric car is way out of my reach, but if I get a call from the Cash Cow, I might afford a secondhand Prius, 840 km on a full tank.

I didn't say they'd listen, but you can't get on social media or letters to the editor and complain if you had no input. Your vote might have tipped the scale.

Check them all out and vote for the one you hate the least. If you don't vote you can't complain about the result.It will be interesting to see the percentage of voters who turn out in the US mid-terms next year.

Yeah, it only encourages them.

One of the problems with EV is that there is no standardised power plug. Not all recharge points can charge all cars. A Tesla plug will not charge a Nissan Leaf, for example. It's like VHS vs Betamax or SD memory cards vs XD. Which one will suffer. When you go to a servo, all petrol nozzles fit in the petrol filler (diesel are different for a purpose). Which plug will survive, or will recharge points have to have multiple outlets?

Just mentioned on the news there are proposals to increase the Eastern Freeway in Melbourne to 22 lanes. Think of all the emissions.

I wonder when they do start charging for charging, whether there will be high and low cycles, or will we be able to rely on a stable price.
