  1. A great proposition. But I don't share your optism. Even if the whole Australian population was likeminded and didn't like any particlar USA policy or decision, do you really believe WE could change it? The mouse cannot roar.
  2. Totally agree. I'm saying that at present I refuse to waste my energy on meaningless BS that issues from DJT. Of course the problems will only get worse - after January. Meanwhile I keep only a mild awareness of his many claims during the leadup to his official start as president, because his word is so unreliable. After January, we will all need awareness and rational analysis to understand the extent of what he does, and the implications that ripple out from them.
  3. No it isn't. It's just choosing to ignore the meaningless background noise. Besides that, a wet fish is something that I can do something about.
  4. That might be interesting. Has any country managed to evict the yanks, once they set up camp?
  5. At this point I am not particularly worried. Since 90% of what he says is BS, I tune him out. Otherwise I start fretting about each silly thing he says. I am fully aware that next year will bring some frightening changes that affect the world. But until they happen Nobody really knows what! Since I have absolutely no control over it, I defer my worry until then.
  6. I get put off by the juvenile theatrics. So I probably miss the rare gems. Most times I can't bring myself to waste so much time listening to them carry on.
  7. No. What have I missed?
  8. Albo hasn't got a chance in the theatre contest.
  9. Sort of related to this thread. I was reading this Vanity Fair article - dated 1994 - and I thought to myself 'this looks like a descrition of DJT.' "October 1994 Issue The New Establishment: The Decline And Fall of the Eastern Empire Perhaps more than any other single person, Henry Kissinger augured the end of the gifted amateurs of the Old Establishment. His ascension to power represented the rise of the free agent—the professional political player who brilliantly manipulated the press, played both sides of issues, and put his own agenda ahead of all others. David Halberstam pins Dr. Kissinger to the pages of history. By David Halberstam" So the rot set in back then. The democrats failed this year because they failed to embrace the new political methods that started quite a while back. Anything DJT says, is just part of the modern theatre that politics has become.
  10. This Sachs bloke got awards for his work to end world poverty back in 2015.... did anything change? From Wiki: "Sachs is co-founder and chief strategist of Millennium Promise Alliance, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty and hunger....... He has been criticized[by whom?] for his views on economics, on the origin of COVID-19, as well as on the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[" Not sure I trust his vision. He was part of the New Establishment.....
  11. And is that video a presentation made by ccp media?
  12. They often are already peasants.
  13. Welcome back Spacey!
  14. Not me. I plan to live forever. So far, so good.
  15. I bet nowadays he ducks fast when he hears "Duck, Donald!"
  16. Yes, the Duck does it a lot.
  17. He won't hear it over the thunder of 750cc of American brute force nostalgia.
  18. Modern news :- too much of info,, comment,, comment,, outrage,, blah, blah..... Then you find that all the above was told by some individual (of nil credibility) that the reporter met down the road.... And this is masquerading as investigative reporting. Bring back the old dull factual reporting with reference to origins of facts. If ABC is dull but factual compared to Commercial news, it has more credibility.
  19. The simple fact that our ABC is not a government propaganda mouthpiece, makes it unique. The fact that all political parties try to call it 'biased' against them, confirms that it isn't. Or at worst, isn't much. Priceless!
  20. Very nice - it turned out to be a worthy investment of your time.
  21. Lets cut it short until DJT is sworn in. Until then he has done nothing but talk. After he is sworn in, he can actually carry out presidential duties whether we like it or not. Then we will have some facts to debate.
  22. In answer to the question, yes. When I get it right, geometry helps. Area of a circle, circumferences, etc. Also volume of concrete, area of flooring, coverage of paints. The list goes on. Used for making stuff.
  23. I stand corrected. And suitably chastened. May I please sit down now?
  24. So they weren't feeling gay?
  25. These days I have begun paying for some stuff - Donated to Guardian, Wiki, etc. I'm motivated to do so, by seeing the (poor) quality and value represented by MSM subscriptions - which I refuse to pay.
