old man emu Posted June 12 Posted June 12 The late 20th Century scifi impressions of future wars look like they have become reality. Battles fought by machines controlled by a few soldiers located far from the actual field of battle. It has come to the point where one person, sitting at a desk with a communication device can destroy whole countries. 1 1

willedoo Posted Tuesday at 03:53 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:53 AM Comrade Shoebridge is copping a bit of flak for opposing aid to Ukraine: https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal/shameful-repugnant-greens-under-fire-over-opposition-to-ukraine-military-aid-20261006-p612uq.html
willedoo Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:58 AM The dude seems to believe they can replace Labor by moving further to the left. All I can see him achieving is turning their 12% into 6%.
Marty_d Posted Tuesday at 05:50 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:50 AM That's not moving to the left, it's just stupid. Pity that Larissa went. I thought she was doing a good job. 1
willedoo Posted Tuesday at 06:08 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:08 AM I watched the bloke in a lengthy interview and he seems very keen but naive. This idea of moving to the left to take voters away from Labor is bordering on delusion. Logic tells you that any far left voters on the market would already be in the Greens camp. To replace Labor they would have to appeal to the centre left and centre. If the Greens want to get anywhere they have to stop dreaming, and that's what this bloke's doing. I think he'll end up being divisive in their party.
Marty_d Posted Tuesday at 06:45 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:45 AM Same goes for the LNP moving to the right. Deserting the centre won't help them.
facthunter Posted Tuesday at 07:32 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:32 AM The LNP are all over the Place. If they don't watch it they will disappear.. Hanson has them spooked. Nev
willedoo Posted Tuesday at 09:23 AM Posted Tuesday at 09:23 AM It's not about just helping Ukraine, it's also about helping preserve the international rule of law and the principal that it's wrong to take someone else's country by force. I'm not sure if the peanut would understand that concept. 1 1
facthunter Posted Tuesday at 10:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:05 PM The GREENS want to take seats from Labor. That is low hanging fruit. The People with the Big hate of the Greens are NP, LNP and LP and Hanson. Greens rarely form a Gov't on their OWN and with policy have an ALL or Nothing Attitude, which is hard to fathom. Surely SOMETHING is better than nothing at all. They frequently have internal Ructions as well. They don't have Many People in the Lower House, either Nev
nomadpete Posted Tuesday at 10:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 10:11 PM The thread is What Has Ukraine Done Now..... They have done something outrageous.... they have had the cheek to stand up to the world's second biggest corrupt bully - Russia. Now both the world's biggest bullies are trying to show the world that such cheek won't be forgiven. Slava Ukraine! 1
facthunter Posted Wednesday at 02:52 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:52 AM My Post relates to a couple of Posts back . Putin is KGB. He wants to return Russia to it's Glory days . USSR. ( 3 days it will take and they will throw Roses) It certainly hasn't worked out that way and NOW who could trust him? Nev 1
