Optus cyber attack

I have been an Optus customer for longer than I can remember. I started when Optus were the only cable TV network. Later, my wife worked for them. Now we only have a mobile wifi modem with Optus, which my daughter uses with her iPad while at the footy or cricket.

 

I registered my name as a possible victim of the security breach. I received an email from Vicroads this evening to say they have checked their files and my details were not compromised, but just to be on the safe side, they will issue me with a new licence.

I don't think that the licence number that you have had since you had pimples will change. They simply issue a new card with a new card ID number.

I went to the trouble of getting a ' photo identification card ' but found it is Not excepted by most , even applying for a ' credit score ' is not possible without that ' drivers licence ' number .

There's an increasing number of people who don't drive.. these credit score things require you to pay up  a fee or your score is reduced. Ther's doubt whether that is LEGAL. .  Nev

My wife never held a licence due to tunnel vision. Couldn't get a photo ID, caused a lot of problems.

Having a driver's licence shouldn't be a necessity. . it could be a s sign of higher intelligence. I doubt that will always get you places because we are treated as if we are trusting drop kicks.  Nev
