  1. I don't really worry about any other public holidays. But this is my main one with people I want to be around. I can't think of any real emergency in a caravan on holidays that can't wait. Or the fire brigade should be called to cool the chassis down after it finishes burning. Probably didn't check his fridge or ac for months and took it the the hottest, driest place he could find to spend summer. The 6 P's counts in most things in life, just like our instructors in the military and flying taught us..
  2. WTF is wrong with the general public. I just missed a phone call, my wife said check it as the nursing home her parents are in couldn't get her on phone and mine is back up number. I hit redial on number, Bloke starts saying " I'm just got into Tamworth and" I knew straight away it was a work call and he couldn't be bothered to read the website where my number came from that states I have relocated 300km away. I just said "mate it's Christmas day for hecks sake" and hung up. I like making money, but what kind of moron believes a workshop is open on that one holiday you spend with family. Am I wrong to think that's how things should be.
  3. Driving home from Tamworth today with double demerits in force, i pass a slow toyota carry (80 on highway that is 100 and good), then stuck behind rav 4 that sped up at end of overtaking lanes. Next lanes went round them. Get to 80kmh road works, not happening but signs still up. He catches me, speeds past. Then when back in hundred zone caught him, he is back to 80 to 85. We got to town, 50kmh, zooms off, caught him on other side again. I was pleased to round him up again at next lanes. Just don't get it. That bit in the 80 and 50 could be the difference in having your ticket or losing it. Looking forward to a good last run home tomorrow. Hopefully no filth campers ( the dirty vans with no washing facilities and plent of BO) or Caravans.
  4. I figured if a 1.5m tool can be left in a running jet engine, a socket should be a piece of cake for them.
  5. Is Qantas offering mechanical servicing whilst you are on holidays?
  6. How do you think of nothing, when you are thinking about it?
  7. Forgive me for ignorance, is what is the definition of ketosis.
  8. My Wife has been on another injection (wegovy I think) doctor wanted her on a dose that works slowly for loss. My doctor had told me after i gain more than i lose each time on different plans, i.e Man Challenge, lite and easy, Manshakes was because your body goes into Starvation mode and tries to save you from wasting away, due to the rapid weight lost it experiences. I have been down to 97kg and up to 129 at worst. It is really hard to stick to the courses when you go way on family trips, events and get togethers. I can do it on my own, but family is always "i dont feel like cooking or i want this tonight" and you feel obligated to partake. I wish there was a boot camp for us "old guys" with Aeroplanes to play with or ogle, PT sessions a couple of times a day with a real tuff Staff Sargent, then maybe good old fashioned war films in the evenings, or lectures on interesting stuff like machines and cars and bikes. 6 months should do it. Maybe too much wishful thinking.
  9. I had some aeroplane related ones made online, the shirts have outlasted all of my big w, kmart ones in regards to staying the same size and not tearing. Redbubble was company name. not expensive for quality, I have "vintage 182" and "only six pack i need" with instruments on front-helps find other pilots in a crowd too when noticed. Heaps to pick from and your own designs too. hope this helps.
  10. I just read a book called "Outrider" by Mark Wales over the weekend, scary stuff. Australia at war with China, Victoria a Chinese state and all of the Pilbarra with a no man's land on a big diagola between the 2. SA turned into a giant shipyard turning out warships with the citizens used as slave labour. (This won't ruin the plot, laid out in preface) if you want to read it. Kinda like a modern day horror story because it's more likely to happen than the bogey man getting you with his chainsaw in a corn field.
  11. If anyone is in Sydney and looking for an interesting outing I highly recommend a visit to the Australia Museum to see this exibit. The workmanship of the gold and silver items on display is amazing, especially when you consider the type of tools they had back in the inca times. Knowing what some of the items were used for and getting to see them up so close is a bit unnerving. The whole display is well done and gives a lot of information in a format that is not hard to digest.

  12. They are stinking things. I walked the island of Komodo on a cruise trip. The guides had big sticks and about 3 guides per group of 20 people to fight them off. The island was filthy from the human inhabitants too. Never heard of rubbish bins
