  2. The NSW Police Commissioner has just confirmed that five females and one male, including the mother of the stabbed baby, have died as a result of the stabbing frenzy in Westfield Shopping Centre at Bondi Junction. Others were injured including a 9 month old baby who had multiple stab wounds to the stomach and has been operated on at the Childrens Hospital. The perpetrator, a man aged between 35 and 40, wearing an Australian rugby league jumper was shot dead by a female police inspector who was in the shopping centre, probably saving mor lives.

  3. There is no IN in the clue either. The question asked for a rare FOUR WORD expression. The ONE is in the MILLION.

  4. When I went out to drive to my mate Keith's funeral yesterday afternoon, the key wouldn't turn in the ignition. My daughter had to drive me to the funeral home, and a shed mate brought me home. The same thing occurred about 6 months ago, but after quite a few attempts, it eventually turned. No, it's not the steering lock. Eliminated that. Last time it happened, Keith advised me to squirt some graphite powder into the ignition switch and jiggle it a bit. It worked last time, but not now. Without the car until next week when I can get an auto electrician to take a look at it.

  5. Calls to my mobile show the number calling, and if I don't know it, I let it go to missed calls and delete it.

If it comes to my landline, I either ignore it or pick it up and listen. If I don't speak, 90% chance it will automatically terminate. If it is someone I know, they will speak first, then I can decide what to say.

Lately I have been receiving a lot of texts, usually around 2 or 3 am, claiming I have an outstanding toll fee which needs paying. I know it's a scam because my toll fees are direct debited daily. My son has also been receiving these scam texts in the early hours. He uses Eastlink, but trips are charged through my Citylink (Linkt) account. He doesn't have an account, but pays his tolls to me with his board. I have  reported this scam to Transurban, with a screenprint of the scam text. Because the scammers use different mobile numbers (04x) they are hard to track or stop.

  6. Three friends, George, Alan and Richard, die in a car crash and go to heaven.
When they reach the Pearly Gates, St. Peter greets them, giving them the usual spiel that everyone gets when they’re about to enter, and as they are walking in he says
” By the way, I almost forgot the new rule. Whatever you do, don’t step on a duck.”
The three friends think this is an odd rule, but they agree to it and step in.
The second they enter they realise that the final rule might be harder to follow than they thought.
Heaven is TEEMING with ducks! Try as they might, they quickly realise that avoiding the birds is going to be a difficult task.
    Then it happens, “QUACK!”
George and Alan look over in shock as Richard steps on a duck.
Quickly, an angel rushes over with one of the most unattractive people the three of them have ever seen.
“Because you stepped on a duck, you are condemned to spend the rest of your time in the Kingdom shackled to this person. Have a good eternity.”
The angel shackles the two together and flies off.
After seeing what happened to Richard, the other two are warier of the consequences and begin treading extremely lightly.
The two of them make it another three days before, on the dawn of the fourth day, a loud “QUACK” is heard.
George looks at Alan, wide-eyed, fearing the worst.
The angel rushes over, ties Alan to a hideous being, and flies away.
George is now petrified that this will be his fate and becomes incredibly paranoid, barely walking anywhere.
He lasts one week or two weeks, but at the beginning of the third week, an angel brings one of the most stunningly beautiful people he has ever seen, shackles the two of them together, and flies off.
    Bewildered and excited, George proclaims,
“Wow! What did I do to deserve this?”
And the person he is shackled to turns and replies
“I don’t know what you did, but I stepped on a duck!”

  7. Is someone asking "Can you hear me?" on the phone when you pick up? If so, hang up. It could be a scam.

The "Can you hear me" scam has been targeting consumers for quite a few years. It's unclear exactly how the scam might play out, but consumer advocates, including the Better Business Bureau, say it's better to hang up and not engage.

What's the danger of the can you hear me scam?
It's likely the scammers are trying to get you to say "yes" or record your voice, which can then be used or edited to make it seem like you authorized something that you didn't, according to a scam alert from the BBB.

The BBB said it continues to receive reports to its Scam Tracker, the organization's tool that keeps an eye on reported scams across the country.
